The Philosopher's Trail is a walking trail about two kilometers long. Because of its beautiful scenery, it has been loved by scholars and philosophers throughout history, who often wandered here to capture the inspiration of ideas. Hence the name Philosopher's Trail. Today, the trail is still a great place to overlook Heidelberg's old town from across the bank. Note that there is only one small seasonal kiosk on the Philosopher's Trail. If you need drinks and food, it is better to prepare them yourself.

📍Heidelberg, Germany 🇩🇪
🌿 I've visited Germany so often, and I've been to big cities like Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin many times. This time, while I was in Frankfurt, I went to Heidelberg, a small city that's about 1 hour and 30 minutes away by bus.
Heidelberg is a quiet city, but it's beautiful. I was able to enjoy some contemplation while walking along the Philosopher's Walk, and I tried the cafeteria at Heidelberg University, the oldest university in Germany.
A must-do when traveling to Heidelberg is to climb up the castle walls and look down on the city. If you're tired of traveling to big European cities, how about traveling to a small city?💚

Philosopher's Path Hike - From Heidelberg's Red Sandstone to Yingtan, Jiangxi
The Philosopher's Path is located halfway up the southern slope of Heiligenberg, on the north bank of the Neckar River in Heidelberg. It is a walking trail about 2 kilometers long. It is said that when the philosopher Hegel taught at Heidelberg University, he often walked here with friends and colleagues, discussing academic issues together.
Walking on this famous trail, while overlooking the town scenery on the opposite bank of the river, reminiscing about the infinite beauty of the past, the entire city of Heidelberg, from the palace to the church, from the stones of the Philosopher's Path to the bridge, from the university classrooms to the elegant villas on the mountain to the street buildings, is all made of red sandstone. The red sandstone has created a romantic cultural capital. This reminds me of the small city of Yingtan in Jiangxi, which is also made of red sandstone. Nature has created the beautiful natural scenery of Longhu Mountain and Guifeng for Yingtan with red sandstone, and also nurtured the Zhengyi sect of Taoism. I went to Yingtan, Jiangxi at the end of last year, but I rarely saw red sandstone buildings in this city. Instead, the natural scenery endowed by red sandstone adds color to the city. In fact, in terms of natural scenery, it is far inferior to the scenery of Yingtan, Jiangxi, but the people here have created a small town with a strong romantic cultural atmosphere using red sandstone...

The Philos
The Philosopher's Trail, also known as the Philosopher's Way, is located on the half-hillside across the Heidelberg River and is the best view of Heidelberg Castle and the Old City. The reason why it is called a philosopher's path is because many literary philosophers of the year often used this to find inspiration.
Follow the signs along the path to climb the mountain, walk on the narrow stone road, both sides of the left are mossy brick walls. Imagine that there have been so many literati and literati here and there. Looking at Heidelberg and writing so many literary masterpieces, I dont know if I am coming, can I also find some inspiration~
along the path The turn finally came to the observation deck in the middle. The wind is really hard and the time is limited, so we didn't climb the top of the mountain. However, the gloomy sky did not regret the true panorama.
Broad view, Heidelberg stands halfway up the mountain and guards the old town by the river. No wonder so many literati and lover love this place, the vision is broad, the mind is broad, and the inspiration will continue to emerge. Even in such a "bad" weather, it is so beautiful, you can imagine how dreamy it would be if it were clear and clear.
Silently write down in your heart, you must come here again to appreciate the beauty that originally belonged to Heidelberg.
