Visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park in spring was like entering a fairytale. The waterfalls were at their strongest, fed by melting snow, and the lakes shimmered in every shade of turquoise and green. Wooden boardwalks guided me across crystal-clear water, past rushing cascades, and through peaceful forest paths alive with birdsong.
I started early in the morning to beat the crowds, choosing Route C which offered a mix of upper and lower lakes. Each turn revealed a new breathtaking view — Veliki slap (the Big Waterfall) was a real highlight, its power echoing through the canyon below.
Spring is the perfect season for Plitvice: mild weather, fewer tourists, and nature bursting into life. It’s an unforgettable destination that shows Croatia’s natural beauty at its best, far beyond the beaches.

Plitvice full day tour
Meeting point at meteorological post located at Zrinjevac Park was easy to find. It's near the Jelačića station, 250m walk. Most tram stops there (12, 13, 14, 17...). Our journey includes a quick stop at Rastoke village, awesome view with waterfalls. Plitvice is a highly recommended tour if you go to Zagreb. Journey by car is around 2 hours. A truly amazing nature walk and unforgettable moments...

I went on a tour of Plitvice Lakes in Croatia, famous for being the filming location for Avatar.
It was a tour where I could enjoy the wonders of nature and take my time there. In particular, the scenes such as the turquoise lake, three-tiered waterfall, and S-shaped wooden path were not just simple scenery, but a wonderful place that healed and inspired my heart.
Course information: Entrance 1 (B course, 4km, takes 3~4 hours).
Main points: Three-tiered waterfall, S-shaped wooden path, turquoise lake.
Features: Log bridge that goes well with the natural scenery, clear and clean lake.
Best season: May (off-season, less crowded than peak season).
Reservation in advance: Limited number of people, reservation required.
