Newly joined SLH Luxury Hotel Alliance member·Shaoxing Puqi Art Hotel
This hotel is a newly joined member of the SLH Small Luxury Hotel Alliance, currently ranking in the top three in terms of room rates in Shaoxing hotels. The main drawback is the hotel's location, which is not very good and even quite remote. There are no unique good views around, although it is near the water, only the most expensive villa can see the water view. Other aspects including room configuration, service and catering are not bad.
Before check-in, the hotel will contact to ask about the arrival time, and proactively upgrade to a Puqi double room with a balcony. Although the room change is not significant, it at least shows the hotel's attitude, which is commendable.
The navigation can directly reach the hotel entrance, but it is here that you take a boat to check in (actually you can walk in directly, but you have to take a boat around the nearby river, probably for the damn sense of ceremony). The hotel butler and concierge are already waiting at the dock before getting off the boat. The check-in process is quite smooth, with towel and tea for seated service, and you don't have to worry about luggage at all.
The hotel is designed by the China Academy of Art, incorporating many national style elements in the public area, while the rooms are relatively simple and rustic. This stay was on the 2nd floor, with a claimed area of 60 square meters, which should include the terrace. The room has very good lighting, and the warm sun at sunset is especially comfortable in winter.
As soon as you enter the door, the bathroom is on the left, and the mini bar and wardrobe are on the right. The room does not have a dedicated luggage rack, which is somewhat inconvenient, but there is a large tatami in the bedroom where you can put luggage and also sleep an extra person without pressure.
The bathroom is fully equipped, with Villeroy & Boch basin, Hansgrohe faucet, Parma water amenities with my name printed on them, equipped with Dyson hair dryer (real, not fake like Mu Shou Xi Xi) and curling iron, the latter is really rare in hotels. Some hotels provide curling irons, but the brand is not Dyson. They also give face masks, etc., even the tissues in the tissue box are face towels. The toothbrushes are put in the makeup bag, like Accor and Jiuzhaigou Ritz-Carlton, they use Marvis. The toilet is Toto Washlet.
However, there are also imperfections. The bathtub uses a domestic brand that imitates PG, only one basin is provided, and the shower system feels average. In addition, only one set of amenities is provided, and there is a charge for additional needs, which is somewhat stingy. Why care about these after spending the big money?
On the mini bar side, there is a capsule coffee machine with 4 non-official capsules, 3 flavors of 6 packs of TWG, free Kunlun Mountain water and large bottle of Farmer, as well as chips and a bucket of open cup joy. In the small refrigerator, there is a bottle of Coca-Cola, Sprite, Puna, two bottles of Fugue White, as well as hawthorn juice, farmer's juice and milk, and the used ones will be replenished when the bed is opened at night. The night bed service is quite meticulous, and they will also send extra Odeburg milk and desserts. The welcome gift is a thermos cup with Luo Han Guo tea and ginger tea, which is refreshing and not sweet. The fruit plate is also good.
The TV in the bedroom is small and basically useless, but it is equipped with a B&O portable speaker. There is also a retro speaker on the bedside, I didn't notice what brand it was. The Himalayan salt lamp is very good, and the bedding and bathrobes are quite comfortable.
The balcony area is okay, the view is actually just the hotel's internal view plus the eaves, better than nothing. For such a location and room, 2000+ is still expensive, around 1000 can be accepted.
