2025 Rovinj Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

✈I drove around Croatia on National Day. During the 11-day trip, I visited all the basic classic scenes. The last issue talked about the Zagreb-Split line, and this issue shares the rest of the itinerary. 👑Sibenik (Picture 3-5) The next stop in Split is Sibenik, which takes 2 hours by car, but I arranged a day. Because you will pass through Kaštera (Picture 1) and Trogir (Picture 2) on the way. 🔺There is a water castle in Kaštera, which is also a filming location for the Game of Thrones. 🔺I don’t have a good impression of Trogir. There are too many tourists at noon, and the city layout is very similar to Split. The cathedral is inexpensive and worth a visit. You must park outside the old town (1.5 euros per hour) and 4 euros per hour in the old town. 🔺Sibenik has relatively fewer people, and it is a "mountain town" with many medieval streets that are different from other cities. It is very suitable for staying one night and strolling around. Sibenik Cathedral is also a world cultural heritage. We did not enter it, which was a pity. 👑Rovinj (Picture 6-7) It takes nearly 5 hours to get from Sibenik to Rovinj. 🔺Rovinj and Venice face each other across the sea, and the old towns are both colorful. However, the area is very small, so you can walk around and see it all in 2 hours. 🔺I recommend two places to stay. The first one is the outlying island opposite the old city, Maistra Select Island Hotel Katarina. It has the best view for shooting the old city and you can snorkel right on the beach. 🔺The other one is the Maistra Select Family Hotel Amarin, a 5-minute drive north. Similar to Clubmed, breakfast, lunch and dinner are all-inclusive, and childcare is included. All entertainment facilities are free. There is a long coastline outside the hotel, where you can swim in the sea and view the old city from a distance. Those who don’t stay can also come here to play. 👑Pula & Porezzi (Picture 8-11, Picture 12-13) Stayed in Rovinj for 2 nights and went to Pula and Poreč one day. 🔺Pula has one of the only 6 remaining Roman arenas in the world, which is very well preserved. The arena ticket is 30 euros, which is worth entering, and the parking lot next to it is free on weekends. 🔺You can walk to the Temple of Augustus from the Arena, which takes about 20 minutes. It only looks good on the outside, but not worth entering. 🔺Porezi has the World Cultural Heritage Euphrasian Cathedral Complex. This church built in the fourth century AD has a rather simple appearance, but the mosaics inside are quite stunning. It takes 2 hours to visit this scenic spot, so it is worth a special trip. 👑Samobor (Picture 14-15) Because we had to return the car to Zagreb Airport on the last day, we booked a hotel here for the day before (20 minutes from the airport). 🔺Quite a surprise, the architectural style is very fairy tale, with colorful houses, wooden bridges over streams, and flowers hanging in front of the windows, it looks very much like those fairy tale towns on the German-French border. 🔺Cheap prices and the best specialty cakes in Croatia.

It was a short bus journey away from the main station in Pula and has some of the best Mediterranean vibes of our whole trip. To see the best views, we took a boat trip around the peninsula or climb up the church tower at the top of the hill.

Some travelling tips to Brijuni National Park 1) Official National Park Boat departs from Fazana and takes about 15 mins to this park 2) Fun fact about this park is that Yugoslavia Dictator Tito has a residence here 3) Adult ticket to visit is 200 kunas which includes a guided tour, train ride, to and fro boat tickets 4) Sort of limited and expensive food options on this tourist island, be sure to pack food or eat at Fazana before coming here. 5) Really close to Pula, if you ate based in Pula, make sure to to visit this island 6) According to my guide this tour opens every day but the hotels on this island has certain months that are closed. If you plan to stay over, make sure you come at the right time

The sunset here is like waking up from a dream, like a painting. The most interesting thing is that we stumbled upon this sunset 🌄 photo spot when we wandered to the other side of the coast. We realized that this was definitely the best spot to watch the sunset, so we waited for the sunset, and it was truly amazing 🙀 🌄 The sun slowly slid down, the colors changed from light to dark, and from dark to light, reflecting in the sea, trembling. At this moment, several small boats and a group of people rowed towards the sunset 🌅, and soon it seemed like they entered the sunset. It was so beautiful, and I felt like capturing this moment. 🌄 The people swimming around also stopped to quietly watch the sun slowly set. The nearby colorful and gentle Venetian-style old houses also looked so beautiful in the soft light of the sunset, like a painting that took us to another poetic world. The sunset is probably the last beautiful moment of the day. If you come to Rovinj, be sure to come here to watch the sunset. 🌄

We climbed up for panoramic photos 📸 of Rovinj’s red-tiled rooftops and the crystal-clear sea stretching out in the distance. If you go in the late afternoon, the soft sunset light illuminates the church beautifully, making it the ideal time for photos 🙌 Be sure to capture the small alleys and the picturesque waterfront as well. Eufemije, 52210 Rovinj, Croatia One of our favorite spots to photograph was the Rovinj Harbour 📸 The harbor, with its colorful boats and quaint cafes ☕️ is the heart of the town. We visited in the late morning when the sun was higher in the sky and the water sparkled under the light ✨ The reflections of the colorful buildings on the water make for a stunning shot 📸 I would recommend visiting at this time to capture the lively atmosphere and the beautiful reflections in the calm waters. It’s also a great spot to relax and enjoy a coffee ☕️ afterward while soaking in the view. 📍Rovinj Harbour, 52210 Rovinj, Croatia As we continued our stroll through the Old Town, we made sure to stop at Grisia Street, Rovinj’s most famous street, lined with art galleries and local shops 🛍️ The cobblestones, the unique artwork, and the charming ambiance make it a perfect location for street photography 📸 We loved the vibrant art on display, and the street itself offers excellent photos, especially when it’s bathed in the warm afternoon sun. So if you want just have a quick swim should be perfect. Aslo I just love the air smell there and sunrises so beautiful:) Highly recommend to try some local fishes, especially in the morning, since they cook from fresh catches.#rovinj #Rovinj

Just came back from Pula, was mesmerized by the turquoise waters. First picture is a beach close to Ambrela, the second and third pictures were shot in Rovinj that is a 40 min ride with the bus, 35 minutes with the car, definitely worth a visit!

You must do an island hopping trip in Croatia. One island and one hotel. There is no hustle and bustle of vehicles. You can stroll around the island just by strolling in the hotel.
