Punggol Beach is located at the northeastern tip of Singapore, across the sea from Malaysia. Running on the beach, cycling, horseback riding, catching crabs, catching sea rainbows, fishing, photography, watching the sunset and shooting the sunrise are all very interesting. The site is known as the site of the "Punggol Beach Massacre" and today the location has been marked as a national heritage site. Around 19:00 in the evening, you can often see burning clouds, which is very spectacular.

Family Fun at Punggol Beach
If you are staying in punggol, you are really lucky. You are close to great malls in Punggol like waterway point and a relatively new Mall called Northshore plaza. To add on, you are also close to nature and a tranquil punggol beach.
My kids and I decided to cycle to punggol beach via northshore plaza. There were proper bike paths and you get to admire the sea views, the ships across, and breathe in fresh air while cycling. As you cycle further, it could even lead you to a turtle pond (which the kids loved), punggol settlement and even to corney Island. It was great fun and there was a pirate ship playground along the way. Awesome way to end the Day with the kids.

eating with dinosaurs + enjoying seaview
a newly open eatery on level 3 of northshore plaza 2, you can’t miss it if you are on that level. there are only 3 tables with full sea view so we only managed to grab one on a weekday afternoon.
there are dinosaurs all around the place with a jungle feel due to the trees and greens around. you can either order at a centralised counter or scan QR code comfortably at your table.
on the right of photo #2, you can see the names of stalls in that eatery. we ordered thai, hawker Chan and Tim Ho wan. love the thai clear Tom yam spicy and Shioks. too bad there was no chicken skin. hawker Chan coffee was average and Tim Ho wan dim sum were not bad as well.

northshore plaza 1 rooftop playground
samudera lrt is linked to level 2 of northshore plaza directly from a link bridge. this development is the nearest hdb plaza to the sea. Punggol residents welcomed northshore plaza 1 & 2 with with open arms due to the tenants they brought it.
decathlon, hai di Lao, A&W, Giant supermarket, koi bubble tea, song fa kway chap, ceaser’s pizza, Swee heng bakery, qiji, grove vegetarian, just to name a few
take the lift or escalator to level 3 where it’s full of development centres for kids, and you will be able to find this playground suitable for ages 2-5. it may be hot in the afternoon so do put on uv cap and Sunblock. we could even see the lrt Station from the playground!
a pity they don’t have seats for elderly caretakers to eye power their grandchildren

ship playground at northshore plaza 2
after aligning bus 384 (6 stops from punggol interchange), Turn Right till you see the brown bridge (3rd photo) and walk under the bridge. from there you should be able to see the cover photo, ship playground near the sea. there is also a boardwalk nearby which you can observe wetlands below. kids will love it my 2.5 years old enjoyed herself amidst the bigger running kids.
end your day with song fa kway chap at northshore plaza 1. 3 adults spent $31 but we should have ordered one more intestine and forgo the pig stomach which was too tough for our liking.
after which, drop by the 2 levels decathlon to try out the skate scooter, inflatable kayaks and darts throwing.

Photography & Workout at Punggol Beach
#moreinsg
For me, the easiest way to go to Punggol Beach is take Bus 84 from Punggol Bus Interchange. It’s just a stone’s throw away from the Punggol Road End bus stop.
I have “chased” the sunset and sunrise here. For those who are into photography, this is a nice place to visit. I have also seen some families having a picnic or letting their children play on the sand - so this is a nice place to hang out as well.
From the Punggol Point Observation Deck, facing the beach, you can also walk to the right side towards Coney Island if you want to explore it. I have not yet fully explored this area but only passed through en route to Sengkang.
When I want to have a good, (very, very) long walk to exercise, I take this route - from Punggol Beach to Sengkang via the park connectors. Another alternative is walk from the beach to Waterway Point Mall. Either way, after a good photography session, one can still squeeze in a good workout 😉

Punggol Beach
#celebrateit
Punggol Beach is a haven for tourists who want to spend some tranquil time away from the crowds and noise of the other busier beaches in Singapore. The white sands dotted with black-brown boulders lend this beach a very unique appearance.
An interesting draw for travelers is that this beach was the site of the Sook Ching massacre during WW-2 and is adorned with memorial plaques

Christmas @ Ibis Hua Hin 2023
Enjoyed our stay at Ibis Hua Hin, never disappointing with the room and location. Enough car lots, safe environment, walking distance to the beach ! A reasonable breakfast selection. Ciccada, Tamarind market,Blu Port and Hua Hin Night market are very near to Hotel too. Will be back again to Ibis in my future trip.#huahin #Ciccada #tamarindmarket #ibishuahin #华欣

Sea View Dining With Dinosaurs
In punngol, somewhere near punggol beach, there is a shopping mall called Northshore plaza, which is quite a new Mall serving the residents staying in the new estate. On the top floor of Northshore plaza, there is an interesting dining concept. It is a food court called nomstar with popular food establishments like tsuta Ramen, Tim Ho Wan, Thai Lae Dee, etc. Food is good but abit pricey. Besides that, one can get a great view of the sea and boats while dining, it is the whole stretch of punggol beach. There are also many dinosaurs within the restaurant and kids will be busy taking photos with them. Great dining place for kids and families.

eat shop play at northshore plaza 1 punggol
directly linked to Samudera lrt station, we had song fa kway chap at level 2 for $24 serving 2 adults with 2 plates of yummy braised intestines, skin, 1 tofu, egg, yam rice & 3 kway chap. it’s a pity that the aircon was blowing directly onto our food and gets cold so soon.
decathlon occupying 2 levels is a fun haven for the kids, especially during the early afternoons where there is no crowd and much safer for the toddler. football, basketball, skate scooter, trampoline etc that the girl doesn’t want to leave the place.
last but not least grab some food deals at level 1 giant! $1 packaged yellow Hokkien mee for a home cooked mee rebus or prawn noodles! forgot to pack the 2 for $2 kimchi home!
