The pine forest adds a unique charm to the royal residence, filling it with a distinctive local flavor. It is said that the construction of the mansion took feng shui into consideration, planning the layout of the pine forest meticulously to ensure the best fortune for the place, making it the most important element of the entire mansion. Whether indoors or outdoors, one can always feel the presence of the pine trees. Whether in the scorching summer or the cold winter, the pines bring comfort and warmth to the mansion. Although most of the buildings have been rebuilt later, I can still sense the breath of history from these ancient trees. Sheltered by the pines, the mansion seems to have traveled through the river of time, extending its glorious history to the present. Although the years have passed, the pines still stand guard here, witnessing the prosperity and splendor that once existed. In this ancient residence, I feel as if I have traveled through time and space to the past. I imagine how the prince, with his unique insights into feng shui, turned this mansion into a magnificent and spectacular building. The Prince of Kalaqin's Mansion is an ancient building that has withstood the test of time, now a key national cultural heritage site. Gongsangnuorbu, the Kalaqin Prince's Mansion, is located in Wangyefu Town, Kalaqin Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It was first built in the 18th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1679), and it is the former residence of Gongsangnuorbu. The Kalaqin has always been nomadic and war-torn in history, and it was not until the 18th year of Kangxi (1679) that a mansion of the county king level was built in the current Kalaqin Wangfu. In the 48th year of Qianlong (1783), after being promoted to the prince level, it was expanded on the basis of the county king's mansion into a prince's mansion. The princes of all dynasties have expanded and repaired, but the central axis building form has always been maintained. For more than 300 years after the completion of the mansion, it has always been the mansion of the county kings and princes of all dynasties. The Kalaqin Prince's Mansion originally covered an area of more than 300 acres, with more than 490 rooms. There are five courtyards in total, with a main hall, a second hall, a letter gate, a main hall, and a Chengqing Building on the central axis. On both sides are the courtyards. Inside the courtyard are the living area and the conference area. On the west side are the temple, ancestral hall, guest room, conference hall, study, and martial arts field buildings; on the east side are the theater, the bedroom of the prince and the Fujin, the dining room, etc. The main buildings and courtyards are all red brick walls.
