Xichang Two-Day Two-Night Travel Guide!
Hello everyone, I'm Shusheng. This time I'm sharing a 2-day and 2-night travel guide to Xichang City in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan! The Jacaranda trees in Xichang are in full bloom from April to May, which is incredibly beautiful. Everyone should hurry to Xichang to take photos📷 and check in~ I feel a sense of déjà vu to Dali, it's like Dali for people from Sichuan haha~
Transportation:
·High-speed train from Chengdu South to Xichang West
149r (about 3h in total) ps. We took the earliest train, departing at 8 am and arriving at 11 am
Train from Chengdu South to Xichang West
64.5r (about 6h in total)
·Taxis in Xichang city are a bit expensive, and it's not easy to hail one. I saw online that locals use Wanshun Taxi, but it's really a bit pricey. You can take the bus (get a bus card in advance)
Scenic Spots
Around Qionghai Lake: Fishing Platform→Qionghai Hotel→Lushan Scenic Area→Dashiban Ancient Village→Walnut Village→Jinlin Beach
·Fishing Platform: Watch the sunrise with a wooden bridge leading to the sea, tree trunks submerged in water, great for taking photos📷
·Qionghai Hotel: Next to Qionghai Park, with Black Swan Coffee right outside. I didn't stay at Qionghai Hotel, just took a photo outside
·Lushan: Take the cable car to see monkeys, the monkeys🐒 are a bit aggressive, one of them snatched my water when I was there
·Dashiban Ancient Village: Come here for portrait photography, filled with photo studios
·Walnut Village: Watch the sunset, the sea here is very clean, and it's not crowded! You can walk along Qionghai to Jinlin Beach, about 30 minutes
·Jinlin Beach: Watch the sunset, a large stretch of beach, walk to the palm trees in the afternoon and quietly wait for the sunset
Three common ways to go around Qionghai Lake:
①Walking + bus🚌 Free to take photos wherever you want, if you get tired, find a chair to sit. There is a bus that goes around the lake but it comes every 30 minutes, so be patient waiting for the bus (the day I went there was traffic control, I waited a long time without seeing a bus, I had to ask a sanitation worker to find out)
②Ride an electric bike, very free and not tiring, but some scenic spots don't allow electric bikes, you have to park outside and walk in, take photos, then walk back to ride the bike
③Ride a bicycle🚲 around the lake, about 35 kilometers in total, it's recommended to rent a mountain bike which is not very tiring, a regular bike will be exhausting
⚠️Note: Actually, there are more than three ways to go around the lake, I've listed the three most common ones, you can also drive/charter a car/take a taxi, etc.
Jianchang Ancient Town: Come at night! It's convenient to eat, the city wall is very photogenic at night, and you can also see the sunset. Choose an off-peak season to take portraits
Tangyuan: Come at night! Free to visit, you can buy tickets on the first floor of Huaiyuan Tower, take the elevator to the top of the tower to view the panorama of Tangyuan. I passed by while eating, you can come here for a stroll after dinner, the night view is beautiful and comfortable
Food & Drink: I had fire pot barbecue, Xichang 'hamburger', rolled rice noodles, Liangshan snow, etc., as well as distinctive Yi cuisine, drunken shrimp, Huili chicken silk, beef offal rice noodles, pot-side potatoes, etc.
