So far, my favorite hidden ancient village in Jiangnan.
Shrouded in mist and rain, it looks like a fairyland on earth. This is Qixiakeng Village, a thousand-year-old village hidden deep in the Siming Mountains of Ningbo, a place where time passes gently.
Highlights
Qixiakeng Village, formerly known as Taohuakeng, is the settlement of the descendants of the great poet Wang Xizhi, a place steeped in history. It sits quietly in the hinterland of the Siming Mountains, about 20 km from Xikou Town, like a paradise hidden from the world. The village is located at a high altitude, with an average elevation of about 500 meters. It is surrounded by dense forests and vegetation, full of negative oxygen ions, making every breath a gift from nature.

Must-try Experiences
Hiking
For hiking enthusiasts, the Qixiakeng Ancient Trail is a paradise, especially in autumn. In autumn, nature is like an overturned palette, with red maples and ginkgoes intertwined, creating a picturesque scene. Hiking along the mountain road takes about 5 hours. The Qixiakeng Ancient Trail, also known as the Tang Poetry Road, has been traveled by many poets who have left behind many popular poems. It is also known as the most beautiful forest ancient trail in Ningbo, where every step is poetic and every scene is picturesque.
Relaxing Slow Life
If you don't hike, strolling around the village is also very relaxing. Spend 2–3 hours walking along the stone-paved roads of the ancient village, feeling the slow passage of time, or find a small shop to sit down, daydream, have a cup of tea, chat, and steal a half-day of leisure.
