Second city but not second best When we say this, we say it as a compliment – Aarhus is tiny! It’s a historic city that remarkably feels like one cosy neighbourhood, where all of the biggest sights and attractions really are within walking distance of each other. (We promise.) Despite this local feel, Aarhus has a few distinct and exciting districts which each give you a different kind of city break experience. It just means you’ll be able to explore them all in one visit!

SIRI Aarhus (Borgerservice Aarhus) First of all it’s in pretty nice location so you can see around also. The place was not that crowded and process of appointment was smooth. I have also gone to Odense one but I would suggest to book Arhus as you can make a trip out of it also l. It’s a big area with food options in the building so you can have something before or after the work is done. Very friendly and helpful staff. I greatly appreciate all they did to help us! Aarhus is look like a cultural city in Denmark, one place that I’ve visits is The old town Den Gamle By, which is the museum that makes you feel like you are back in the old-school with the Jolly Cola 🥤😎. I had an original Danish bread, it's called “Smørrebrød”. It's a rye bread topped up with smoky salmon🐟 or beef 🥩. I super enjoyed eating there…and a pork rinds for a snacking time 😋. The gardens were designed in 1920 by landscape gardener Jens Peder Andersen and castle architect Thorvald Jørgensen, and were built on top of Christian IV's old naval port, Tøjhushavnen. As a reminder of its maritime past, a small pond has been retained in the middle of the gardens and an old mooring ring of the type used by ships in the 17th and 18th centuries has been built into the masonry at the end of the gardens. A little off the beaten track, one might suggest... but Aarhus is a great destination for a weekend if you're looking for something a bit different. I paid just £35 for my return flight in April 2024 from Stansted to the city of smiles. I can see where it gets it's nickname from, the Danish community are among the friendliest in Europe. Aarhus has a lot to offer with a bustling food scene and a fantastic deer park outside the city centre, a beautiful 1hr stroll away. Id' definitely recommend Aarhus for anyone looking for a relaxed city away from the hustle and bustle of the equally busy capital, Copenhagen.
