⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
1. Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor is Siem Reap's best and most luxurious hotel, opened in 1932. It boasts a splendid exterior that belies its age, and there is a bronze lion statue guarding the entrance that seems to protect the hotel. Located in the old French Quarter, Grand Hotel d'Angkor faces the Royal Palace (the palace is now located in the capital, Phnom Penh, but the King stays here when visiting Siem Reap) and is within walking distance of the National Museum. It is also not far from the town's colorful market along the riverside.
2. The hotel, which has hosted many famous guests including Charlie Chaplin, Paulette Goddard, Princess Margaret, Lord Snowden, Jacqueline Kennedy, Charles de Gaulle, Queen Sophia, Roger Moore, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, reopened after restoration in 1997 and is considered the last bastion of the golden age of Cambodian tourism. In 2002, it hosted an international charity concert called Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor Evening at An Kores Carreras to help preserve Cambodia's heritage.
* Raffles Hotel: A luxury hotel located in the Downtown Core area of Singapore, founded in 1887 by the Armenian hoteliers, the Sarkis brothers. It was named after Thomas Stamford Raffles, a British politician and founder of colonial Singapore.
3. The 90th anniversary stepping stone, which seems to boast the year 1932, welcomes guests and is a space where everyone can feel welcome. The Raffles Hotel is famous for its afternoon tea in Singapore, and it is famous for its gorgeous exterior as well as its space where you can enjoy Singapore’s signature cocktail, the Sling. That’s why I was curious about how the Raffles Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia is decorated and how it continues its reputation.
4. In accordance with the tradition of the royal guard, a doorman wearing silk pantaloons guards the hotel. Unfortunately, I couldn’t meet him when I visited, but this doorman wears different colored pantaloons depending on the day of the week. The doorman at Raffles Singapore wears a turban and a different outfit.
5. If Singapore's Raffles Hotel boasted a fountain, Siem Reap, Cambodia, has a Buddhist statue that symbolizes Cambodia and a temple that seems to worship a god. An experience program called SPIRITUAL AWAKENING is being operated, and it starts at 7:30 AM every Wednesday/Friday/Sunday under the tower bell that was donated to the hotel as a sign of peace after receiving the fortune discovered after the war. With fragrant jasmine water, chants to purify the spirit, and receiving the monk's blessing and wearing a sacred string bracelet on your wrist, your meaningful trip to Siem Reap will be remembered forever.
The national name Cambodia originates from Cambodia. It is derived from the French name for Cambodia, Cambodge, and the Sanskrit word kamboja. In Khmer, it is called Kampucheo.
The national flag of Cambodia always features the country's representative historic site, Angkor Wat, in blue, red, and blue, with a white Angkor Wat. Blue represents the royal family and the richness of Cambodia's natural and cultural resources, red represents the people and Cambodia's sacrifice, white represents Buddhism, and Angkor Wat represents the great Khmer civilization of our ancestors.
6. The neat interior of the Raffles Hotel has several resting spaces for guests and visitors, where lotus flowers, symbols of Hinduism and Buddhism, are placed. The lotus flower symbolizes regeneration and the cyclical nature of life, rising from the mud and blooming again every morning, and symbolizes the cycle of birth, death, and reincarnation.
7. In one corner where the sun shines, a Phalaenopsis, known as the Phalaenopsis, welcomed us. The Phalaenopsis is a tall Phalaenopsis that grows well in tropical Asia, and its fragrance is fragrant. The flower language is 'happiness flying in', implying that any happiness will always fly to someone sitting here.
8. In the space leading to the pool, there is a comfortable sofa where you can sit for a while and a statue of the Khmer Venus. The appearance of the Venus of Angkor is similar to the appearance of the Mona Lisa of Khmer.
9. When you arrive at the pool, your mouth will drop open at its enormous size. You will be surprised by the size of the pool, which is larger than the size of the hotel, and your mouth will not close. The 35-meter pool, modeled after the ancient bathhouse of Angkor, is enormous. The spa here is also famous, and it is a place that takes care of your body, mind, and soul. You can enjoy a foot massage while looking at the pool under the fragrant frangipani tree.
