There were several **2-hour free public parking lots** near Rodeo Drive, which was good for shopping and sightseeing. For example, the public parking lots at **241 N. Beverly Dr.** and **438 N. Beverly Dr.** were free. Paid parking options included street metered parking and hotel valet parking. Metered parking was quite expensive, and valet was more expensive but convenient. The **Beverly Hills Triangle** shopping mall and upscale restaurants had their own valet service, which was convenient. Free parking lots filled up quickly on weekends or during peak times, so it was easier to park somewhere a little further away.

We decided to spend our first night in Beverly Hills before heading to DTLA and we enjoyed it so much. It was a restful two days after such a long flight from Singapore. The weather was cool but the beautiful sun was out in the blue skies so it was such a perfect sunny California welcome. We stayed at Sirtaj Hotel which was a short stroll from Wilshire and Rodeo Drive. We met some friends for lunch at Il Pastaio so it was a great opportunity to stroll down Rodeo Drive. Streets were clean and it is a shopping haven if you’ve got deep pockets which we didn’t so it was mostly a lot of sightseeing. There were some lovely mid-range brands too so we did a little damage there but not too crazy 😂 Even if you’re not shopping, it really is a beautiful area lined with luxury brands left and right. We were blessed with such gorgeous weather that day and if you ever go to Il Pastaio, get the squid ink pasta. It was not on the menu but our friends recommended it and specially requested it from the chef. So so good… it has to be one of the best squid ink pastas I’ve ever had.
