It’s got epic views, relaxing nature, and just enough adventure to keep things interesting. You can hike up if you’re feeling active, or take the Rokko Cable Car for a super scenic ride. Either way, the top is where the magic happens, think sweeping views of Kobe, Osaka Bay, and even far-off city lights at night. There’s a cool little area called Rokko Garden Terrace with shops, food, and photo spots galore. You’ll also find a botanical garden, a quirky music box museum, and even a pasture with sheep if that’s your thing. In fall, the colors are insane, and in winter, there's even a tiny ski area. It’s the perfect mix of chill and adventure, and only a short ride from Kobe. Mount Rokko totally deserves a spot on your list.

Rokkosan Garden Terrace is a dreamy space that lets you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. I spent a leisurely afternoon here, strolling through the park surrounded by European-style buildings, immersed in the perfect blend of nature and design. 🌟 **Highlights of My Experience** 1. **European-Style Gardens and Architecture**: The garden features unique cobblestone paths, chapel-like buildings, and well-kept gardens, making you feel like you're in a European town. It's perfect for walking and taking photos. 2. **Free Observation Deck**: From the observation deck, you can overlook Kobe city, the harbor, and the distant Osaka Bay. 🚄 On this trip, we took the train from Osaka to ‘Kobe’ and then took the train to ‘Rokko Station’ and then took bus number 16 to the tram stop. 🏔️ We bought the Rokkosan Tourist Pass in Thailand. This pass covers all travel expenses for the Rokko mountain tour route. The tram that we took up the mountain is open-air, cutting through the mountain, very close to nature. On Rokko Mountain, there are buses running in a circle and stopping at various tourist spots. We stopped at > Rokko Garden Terrace: a viewpoint, shopping, and dining area > Rokko-Shidare Observatory: a very famous architectural structure in Japan. The creator gave the concept of a large tree standing majestically on Rokko Mountain. Inside is a large hall. The air is cool when it’s hot outside and warm when it’s cold outside. We took the cable car across the mountain to soak in the onsen in Arima Village. At this point, we had to buy a new ticket, but we could use the Rokkosan Tourist Pass as a discount. ⛲️ Arima Village is famous for its golden onsen, which has properties that help relieve colds. Relieve your aches and pains with a foot soak at Kin No Yu, a free pool that can relieve a lot of aches and pains. 🦀 In the evening, we had a buffet of giant crab legs with the night atmosphere of Kobe at Fisherman's Market. Honestly, we think that a port city like Kobe has more to do than we thought. It takes about 2 hours from Osaka, easy to get to by train, and is another city that you shouldn't miss when visiting Japan. 📍 Kobe, Japan

thought we got lost in the mountains of Rokko, only to realize we were led to find this beautiful hidden falls. thank you to the ojisan and obasan that helped us through our trek. we could have gotten really lost because no translations were written in the signs. maybe we really don't get lost in a new place, we're just given a chance to see other places that are also worth seeing. #japan #kobe #mtrokko
