Oh my goodness! Tianchi Mountain in Songxian County, Luoyang is absolutely incredible!
Still wondering where to go for your vacation? Then you absolutely must check out Tianchi Mountain in Songxian County, Luoyang!
It's a national forest park and 4A-level scenic area, just a two-hour drive from downtown Luoyang. Once you enter Tianchi Mountain, you'll see layer upon layer of mountains, deep and long canyons, lush forests like giant green umbrellas, gleaming clean rocks, crystal-clear water that looks filtered, and a perfectly pleasant climate—it's truly a paradise on earth!
The scenic area offers four incredibly rich tourist routes where you can experience water, stone, forest, and cultural attractions all in one visit.
Enter the scenic area in the morning and drive directly from Relai Yuelv Hotel (Luoyang Railway Station Subway Station Branch) to the Feilaishi Scenic Area parking lot, then take the shuttle bus to the mountaintop. Wow, the world's first "Flying Stone" is right before your eyes, along with the lifelike "Reclining Figure of the Great Man," as well as Gongxin Peak and Red Azaleas. The view suddenly opens up, and the entire tour takes just about an hour—super easy and not tiring at all!
Next, head to Tianchi North Peak, where the alpine lake sits at an elevation of 1,630 meters, with a water area of 10,400 square meters and an average depth of 5.3 meters. It's China's third-largest alpine lake after Changbai Mountain's Tianchi and Tianshan's Tianchi. The scenery is unbelievably beautiful—a must-visit spot!
In the afternoon, visit Yünü Stream and Erlang Valley. You can park by the roadside, and even a short visit is fascinating. Yünü Stream runs for 3,000 meters with over 30 pools of various sizes. The stream gurgles along, the path winds and curves, exuding a serene beauty. Erlang Valley Scenic Area stretches for 1,500 meters with steep cliffs, rushing waterfalls, giant rocks blocking the path, ancient trees soaring into the clouds, and one deep pool and mysterious cave after another—it's absolutely breathtaking!
If you enjoy hiking, the previously walked route from Lotus Peak to Stone Eagle Ridge to Flying Stone is also fantastic. The scenery along the way is stunning, though you'll need to climb large steps and it takes two to three hours—perfect for friends who love a challenge.
The entrance fee is only CNY 60, and you can use the annual tourism pass (just pay a CNY 5 insurance fee). Parking for self-driving vehicles is only CNY 10—the value is incredibly friendly! Go for it right away!
