Shimoda and Minamiizu sightseeing! Recommended 2-day, 1-night tour
#Sakura2024
Shimoda is perfect for a summer vacation outing because the sea is beautiful! It's a place you should definitely rent a car and go to! Recommended course: Day 1 (Shimoda) Ryugu Sea Cave → Perry Road → Shimoda Port (Black Ships) Day 2 (Minamiizu) Hirizo Beach Transportation: A rental car is a must! ✅ Ryugu Sea Cave is crowded, so it's best to go in the morning! ✅ Hirizo Beach is best to go early in the morning because the boats don't leave when the sea is rough and there is a huge traffic jam before you get to the beach! It gets crowded in the afternoon, and the beach is trampled and not very clean😭📍 Ryugu Sea Cave Address: Tagoshi, Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture Cost: Parking is 500 yen in summer Recommended point: It gets very crowded, so go early in the morning Important note: It is a rocky area, so wear shoes that are easy to walk in and don't mind getting dirty Recommended spot📍 Perry Road Address: Shichikenchiyo, 13, 3-13-12 Access: 15 minutes walk from Izukyu-Shimoda Station Cost: Free ⚠ Important note: There is no dedicated parking lot, so it is recommended to park in the parking lot at the entrance to Shimoda Park, a 1-minute walk away (it is free, but 500 yen during the Hydrangea Festival)📍 Shimoda Port, Sightseeing on the Susquehanna Address: Shimoda Port Sotogaoka Pier (19 Sotogaoka, Shimoda City) Cost: 1,500 yen for adults, 1,500 yen for children 750 yen ⚠ Note: Boats depart roughly every 30 minutes, but check the website for times 📍 Hirizo Beach Address: Nakagi, Minamiizu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture 415-0311 Access: Drive to Nakagi, then take a 5-minute ferry Cost: Ferry, 2,000 yen round trip Recommended points: The sea is beautiful first thing in the morning, so it's recommended ⚠ Note: It gets really crowded! I took 2 hours to go on a 5-minute drive. lol The season is short, from July to September, so it gets especially crowded on weekends. If the sea is rough, the boats may not depart, so it's all down to luck lol
