It is said that Mount Fuji rewards early risers. Compared to Lake Kawaguchiko, I prefer Lake Yamanaka. Although there was no "reverse Fuji," I was already very satisfied. Cycling around the lake took 2 hours. Gave up on "the park" as it opens at 11:00 and there were already many people waiting for viewing spots at 10:00. But actually, just a little bit past "the park," the scenery was also amazing. There's no need to wait specifically. After cycling around the lake, had brunch at Denny's. In the afternoon, took a bus to Lake Kawaguchiko. A perfect day. ❗️Tips The lake bus only starts running at 7:00. To see the sunrise early, you need to take a taxi or stay near Hirano. There are swans in many places, especially at Shiratori-hama, and also at Hirano. Bicycle rentals are available from 9:00 for JPY 2,000 for two hours. Rented from an elderly gentleman near Shiratori-hama. Two hours is enough to cycle around the lake and take photos. You can choose a hotel in Hirano or near a bus stop, which is very convenient.

⛩️ Katsuoji Temple (勝尾寺) 👺 Or Daruma Temple, the Japanese call it the Temple of Victory 🎉 where people often come to pray for victory, success, work, love. It is a fairly large temple. The ancient temple is over 1,300 years old and is located in Mino, Osaka. 🙏🏻 💞: This lucky temple also has an important symbol, the "Daruma doll of victory". The Daruma doll is a bright red doll made of Japanese paper that looks like a tumbler doll. 🪆👺 🏖️: Before entering, there is an entrance fee. Minoh Park is the closest national park to Osaka. It is about a 3-kilometer walk from Minoh Station to the main attraction of the park, Minoh Waterfall. You can enjoy a leisurely hike while taking in the surrounding scenery, which includes lovely trees and clear rivers. If you're lucky, you might even spot red-faced monkeys in the park, allowing you to enjoy some fresh air and connect with nature. Along the way, there are many vendors selling fried maple leaves tempura. We bought some to try, and they were very crispy. There's also an insect museum in the park. I guess many different types of insects have been discovered here, but we didn't see any visitors going in. The final highlight of the hike is the waterfall. The sound of the rushing water and the visual treat of the rainbow at the base of the waterfall were the grand finale of our hike. Most visitors to this park are Japanese, and it's wonderful to spend half a day in this national park, especially after experiencing the crowds and hustle and bustle of Osaka (especially Dotonbori!). The path to the waterfall is paved, making it very easy to climb and perfect for joggers and outdoor enthusiasts. There are stalls selling drinks and food, especially grilled fish, near the waterfall. The weather was great that day, making it perfect for an outdoor hike! From Osaka Umeda Station, take the Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Ishibashi Handai-mae Station, then transfer to the Hankyu Minoh Line to Minoh Station.

Autumn will be a perfect season to visit Minoo as you will see a bunch of colorful trees on your way to the top of Minoo waterfall. It is easy to get to Minoo by train. As long as you have Osaka Amazing Pass, you can go there free by taking train or you can use your own ICOCA for the rain ride. You can direct from wherever you are to Minoo by maps and take the last stop at Minoo Station. Then you can just walk straight to the north area to meet the Minoo Park. Among a few temple along your hiking trail, one is the most impressive temple is Ryuanji Temple. This located in between of start point, train station and last point waterfall. Along your hiking way, there will be a few shops selling their best snacks and drinks for you to take a rest for a while. I've wanted to come here for a long time but I never chose to fly to Osaka. This time I finally came. The journey is easy but the ride is long. There are little Daruma everywhere. So cute. The most beloved spot in Osaka is Katsuo-ji Temple!! It's so healing and the environment is serene. Luckily, there weren't many people when I visited. Taking a quiet walk there really calms and soothes the mind. I bought a small Daruma doll and wrote my wish on its back. If your wish comes true, remember to come back and give thanks. Also, don't forget to stamp your Daruma postcard at each checkpoint. Unfortunately, I went too late and couldn't complete it.
