Sakurai Futamiura is a famous attraction in Mie Prefecture, Japan. The white torii gate is located on the seaside, facing the famous Couple Rock. "Couple Rock" is two huge rocks standing in the sea, connected by a rope that symbolizes marriage and connection, symbolizing the harmony and happiness of husband and wife. The last bus back was at 6:26, and the station was right opposite the teahouse, so I sat at Itoshima Teahouse for a while. The outdoor landscape of the tea room is very beautiful. The golden sun shines on the wooden frame of the tea room, sparkling and the atmosphere is very charming. When the sun went down, I didn’t have enough time to walk under the torii gate to take pictures, so I could only take pictures of the beautiful sunset from the side. At sunset, I looked at the torii gate, Couple Rock and the sun from a distance. It was so beautiful and dreamy, and I felt an indescribable feeling. #beachlife #Fukuoka This is the Sakurai Shrine Futamigaura Torii situated in Itoshima, Fukuoka prefecture, Kyushu region. It will be easier to drive and it takes around half and hour from the city centre. Alternatively, there is the Showa West Coast liner bus from Hakata bus terminal and it takes around 1.5 hrs to reach Futamigaura (Meotoiwamae) station and it costs around 1300 yen one way. The two giant rocks joined by a shimenawa rope—straw rope used at many Shinto shrines indicating a divide between the sacred and the secular—earn the gasps and coos of admiration by visitors on sandy beaches. The rocks are a symbol of happy marriage. It is really amazing and interesting to know such background stories of these landmarks.

Lunch: 3 places you can try (rank from best to decent) Yamayasu, 3191 Takamori, Aso District, Kumamoto 869-1602, Japan - Hot plate beef with rice and soft boiled eggs, the place looks a lot cleaner than the other one; Takamori Dengaku no Sato - Rustic space with floor seating, this place offers traditional charcoal-grilled set meals but it's not the cleanest.; 鶏炭火焼 らくだ山 - for none beef eater, you can enjoy the same grilled but only chicken meat. 4. Kusasenrigahama, Japan, 〒869-1505 Kumamoto, Aso District, 阿蘇市 草千里ヶ浜 - Enjoy some horse riding, a nice hike up the mountain to watch an active volcano go poof, or maybe eat some horse meat skewers. I really fell in love with how peaceful this place is and I won't lie that this would be the perfect proposal spot for the adventurous couples. 5. Kurokawa Onsen, Manganji, Minamioguni, Aso District, Kumamoto 869-2402, Japan - This little onsen town looks like the Spirited Away village. I went to Sakurai Futamigaura in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This is a place I definitely wanted to visit on this trip to Fukuoka! Itoshima City has many things to see, but the white torii gate and the married couple rocks of Sakurai Shrine are a must-see. I visited at around 3pm in midsummer. The weather was good that day, and the blue sky spread out, making it the best location! A magnificent white torii gate standing in the sea. And behind it, the married couple rocks were nestled together, and they were divine and truly beautiful. The water was so clear and beautiful that I wanted to swim, but I held back lol.
