"Sunsets in Changsha aren't romantic - you are the romantic one"
Chased the sunset tirelessly for hours today, but after parting with friends, reviewing photos alone in my dorm brought unexpected tears. "No matter how many times I tell you the sunset is beautiful, it doesn't count unless you see it with me."
📍Location: Near Sanchaji Bridge, Kaifu District, Changsha (Navigate to Dream Travel·Tipsy Shore Urban Camping Base)
⭐After dinner at 6pm, the clear sky turned hazy and the sun disappeared. Following the "since we're already here" principle, we went anyway. Upon arrival with no sunset in sight, we strolled along the riverbank hoping for a miracle. As we walked further, the sun suddenly appeared like molten egg yolk behind distant skyscrapers, gradually casting shimmering light on the river. Chasing its direction, the sky transformed into pink-purple hues with magnificent evening clouds. Beyond the bridge, we discovered a campsite area with numerous food stalls and tea houses - a whole new spot!
⭐Overall, the Sanchaji Bridge area is indeed great for sunset viewing and photography. On clear days you can see the full round sun setting. But sunset positions vary by season! Last autumn the best view was near the Shipping Wharf (see last year's notes), but yesterday we initially saw nothing there - the sunset only gradually appeared after walking further along the embankment.
⭐Compared to my first visit last year, the area now has many more vendors, especially near the campsite with richer food options and dedicated lawn areas with canopies. Perfect for evening walks and night views, though the remote location requires planning around your schedule.
⭐I recommend arriving one hour before sunset to watch the sun descend, wait for the evening glow, and capture night views after dark.
