📍Nan'ao Island! Two days and one night special forces guide for college students Depart from Shantou city at 9:30, and it takes about an hour to drive to Nan'ao Island! According to the guide, we planned to stay at Qing'ao Bay to watch the sunrise the next day, so after arriving on the island, we navigated towards Qing'ao Bay. On the way, we visited two attractions; student tickets are half price, so you can go in and have a look. I forgot the name of the first attraction, but the second one was the Presidential Palace, which I personally think is not worth visiting. Hotels are really cheap during the off-season! Most accommodations in Qing'ao Bay are apartments, with options for sea view rooms and garden view rooms. Sea view rooms are further divided into full sea view and partial sea view. We stayed in a full sea view room (p2). The room's cleanliness was average, but the balcony had a wide view. Higher floors are better, but staying by the sea means the sound of waves can be loud at night. After checking in, we had some seafood at a food stall downstairs and then went out for a walk. Some guides suggest renting an electric scooter 🛵, but we found driving a car more convenient. There are many steep slopes, and electric scooters might struggle. The attractions are also somewhat far apart, so driving or hiring a car is recommended. We didn't visit many popular spots, just drove around and took photos. We passed by an oyster farming base; the colorful sea view was really beautiful! Suddenly, we saw many cars parked by the roadside and realized we had reached Highway 2. There were quite a few people taking photos. The Lonely Tree was fenced off when we visited, so we could only view it from a distance. The Tropic of Cancer marker is inside a forest park, requiring an entrance ticket. It closes around 5 PM, so be mindful of the time. When we arrived at the Tropic of Cancer marker, there were only two or three people taking photos, so we didn't have to wait long. Near sunset, we drove to the Changshanwei Lighthouse to watch the sunset. It was a great spot for photos, though it was quite crowded. We had shrimp and crab porridge for dinner in Houzhai Town, bought some marinated seafood and fruits to eat back at the hotel.
