Nestled in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, Seiunji Temple is renowned for its breathtaking display of weeping cherry blossoms each spring. The centerpiece is a majestic 600-year-old Edohigan weeping cherry tree, standing approximately 15 meters tall with a trunk circumference of about 3 meters. Its cascading branches create a mesmerizing canopy of pink petals, offering a serene and picturesque setting for visitors.
Surrounding this ancient tree are around 30 additional weeping cherry trees, including the vibrant Chichibu-benishidare variety, known for their rich pink blossoms. The temple grounds transform into a floral paradise from late March to mid-April, attracting both locals and tourists seeking the tranquil beauty of the sakura season.
