Nestled in the cloud forest, it felt like stepping into a world of lush greenery and endless wildlife. The entrance to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve was about $25, and it was worth every penny. I spent hours hiking the misty trails, surrounded by towering trees, exotic plants, and the sounds of birds and monkeys in the distance. The hanging bridges offered breathtaking views, and I even spotted a quetzal, one of the rarest birds in the world! After exploring the reserve, I visited the nearby butterfly garden and coffee plantations, which gave me a deeper appreciation of the local culture. Monteverde butterfly gardens is one of the biggest butterfly gardens in the world , it had soooo many butterflies and the gardens and flowers were beautiful. It’s amazing having so many butterflies flying around you. The garden is in a massive dome and has different temperatures, you can climb to a second floor and watch the butterflies from above.. there are guides inside telling you about all the different species of butterflies. The gardens were beautiful and they had relaxing waterfalls. The hummingbird garden was a perfect picnic area for us to enjoy our lunch with all the hummingbirds zooming around, I even had the chance for the birds to land on my hands… it was an awesome experience…. Definitely worth a visit if you are in monteverde

the Cloud Forest preserve in Monteverde, Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful. I saw more wildlife there then I ever have from tree frogs, to howler monkeys. at the right time of day, the clouds really do settle in amongst the jungle and you can feel the moisture of the clouds in the air. could not recommend this enough. they have guided tours and self tours!

Here is where you can literally touch the sky! There are many great locations to visit, all nature-related. In this area you can find three cloud forest reserves, the Children Eternal Forest (BEN), Monteverde reserve (CCT) and Santa Elena cloud forest (near downtown). Monteverde is worldly known for its amazing cloud forest and biological reserves. Located 3 hours from San Jose, this small town is one of the best locations to visit for ecotourism. Perfect for outdoor activities, bird watching, hiking, sightseeing, and some indoor museums/gardens also focused to promote conservation. Now, imagine crossing over those gorgeous cloud forests in zip lines. Coming to Costa Rica, or visiting Monteverde without experiencing a canopy tour is a waste. This is an amazing family experience! Should I say, this moment I shared with my sister and my mom was definitely one of the best in life. This particular canopy takes about 2:30 hours, some zip lines are short, one is very long (and scary high!), and changes your life (adrenaline rush). Mountverde cloud forest is in mount verde Costa Rica, it is such an amazing place and it was fantastic to walk so high above the forest in the clouds, there are a series of bridges that cover the top of the forest and you can see for miles because you are so high up. The Tree House restaurant is a highly-known restaurant in Monteverde. They built the restaurant around the ficus tree, downtown Santa Elena. Great option after a hike in any of the cloud forest reserves or enjoying a day of extreme sports (canopy).
