It serves up hearty brunch items wide wide range from western to Asian and most of the food we ordered were all well executed and we cleaned off our plates! Desserts like waffles and ice cream were also available and definitely a great gathering cafe with family/friends of in the northern side of Sg with its relaxed vibe plus great foodfare.

#singapore Chanced upon this stall while looking out for a place to have desserts near sembawang shopping centre when looking at googlemaps. the place was clean and spacious with a really huge range of self made ice cream. They have healthy flavours like ju hua, goji berries and special waffles with nian gao made fresh after you order. For people up for challenge, consider their pipagao drink. Really sweet!

Located at SCC, a good find. Hainanese early settlers always have steamed chicken as one of the staple during Lunar New Year as the word Ji is a homophone for prosperity and a welcome dish. First trial and it really taste pretty good for chicken rice! tried their mushrooms toufu, quite to taste. will come again. 😊 #newyearadventure

#afternoontea Yummy at Ramen Hitoyoshi! They have variety of Don (rice) & Ramen (noodle) and most importantly they are very generous with their ingredients. Located just at Sembawang Shopping Center, must try if you are there! Sign up for their membership and you get first drink complimentary! As a member, you can claim for kids’ meal which is just nice for a kid and definitely not stingy with their ingredient!

The first thing I tried was the blueberry cheesecake and cookies-and-cream mini tarts, sprinkled with gold dust and cookie crumbs respectively. I thought they were the perfect size for dessert, like those petite delights from a fancy afternoon tea, with just the right level of sweetness. Each tart had a nice mix of textures: The creaminess of the filling, the crumbly goodness of the tart base and either the freshness of the blueberries or the crunchiness of the cookie crumbs. Next up was the cookies-and-cream macarons. I have never been a fan of macarons as most of the ones I’ve tried are sickly sweet. These weren’t too bad, but still overwhelmingly saccharine compared to the other items in the box. The shells were done pretty well though, well-risen with a nice glossy sheen. The cookies-and-cream cupcake as heavenly: The cake itself was moist, light and airy, topped off with deliciously smooth Oreo cream. I tried the Au Naturel brownie square. According to its description on the website, it should be ‘moist and fudgy’. Moist? Not so much. Fudgy and chewy? Yup, very much so. I would’ve preferred it to be more ‘moist’ than ‘fudgy’, but that aside, it was quite well-balanced in its sweetness. Lastly, the packet of fleur de sel (ie. salted) molten lava chocolate cookies. There were interesting white concentric circles in the chocolate, apparently called chocolate blooms, that are a result of ambient humidity (safe to eat!). I followed the instructions on the packet and the cookies came out fabulously molten and gooey. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the salt was rather carelessly sprinkled on as it was highly concentrated in certain areas, making those bites extremely salty and unpleasant. The ambiance alone made it the perfect place to take a break, but of course, it was the food and drinks that really stood out. We kicked things off with their green tea latte with proton strawberry and agar pearls. The drink was a perfect balance of light, floral jasmine green tea with a touch of fruity sweetness from the strawberry puree. What really made it stand out were the agar pearls, adding a fun, chewy texture that made every sip a little more special. It was refreshing and creamy, and definitely something we'd order again. For dessert, we tried the Uji matcha cheesecake. Made with authentic Kyoto matcha, it had that rich, earthy flavor we love, but it wasn't too overwhelming. The cheesecake itself was smooth, creamy, and the matcha flavor paired perfectly with the rich texture. For matcha lovers, this is definitely a must-try. Now that they’ve moved to Sembawang Shopping Centre, things look different — in the best way possible. The new outlet is bright, spacious, and full of natural light with sleek floor-to-ceiling glass windows. There’s a ton of seating now, so no more hovering awkwardly or squeezing into tight corners. But most importantly — the food? Still just as fiery and addictive. We always go straight for the mala collagen broth. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with flavour — you can taste the hours of simmered pork and chicken bones in every sip. Toss in your favourites like sliced beef, fish tofu, enoki, and Chinese cabbage, and you’ve got yourself a comforting bowl with just the right amount of spicy kick. Their dry mala xiang guo is still our guilty pleasure. The ingredients are fried first, giving everything that golden crisp before being tossed in their signature mala mix. We love the crunch of lotus root, the chewiness of sweet potato noodles, and the salty indulgence of fried luncheon meat. It’s smoky, spicy, and full of wok hei. Prices are still super reasonable — $2.48 per 100g — so you can load up without feeling the pinch. It used to be at Dhouby gout mrt and then there is one downtown east. This restaurant is the regular place for students. There are free flow drinks and ice cream. Its at affordable price and definitely worth the value. The recent visit to this outlet saw an improvement to their drinks menu. There were many different choices. I love their ice milk tea. The Honey calamansi is good too. If those are too sweet, there is always green tea or soda. For the food, I ordered the dory fish in ginger sauce. It taste decent, I even take away another packet. #wheretogo
