#tokyo Sensoji Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple located in the Asakusa district of Tokyo and is Tokyo's oldest temple. It has been a cultural landmark in Tokyo where most people will visit and a mandatory shot of the giant red lantern in front of the main gate of the temple. As much as we enjoyed touring the temple, we also enjoyed the lively street of food and souvenir shops in front of the temple. A nice and lively temple that is well kept. Visiting Sensō-ji in Asakusa was an unforgettable experience. ⛩ The moment I stepped through the iconic Kaminarimon Gate, I was captivated by the vibrant energy of the bustling Nakamise Street, filled with traditional snacks and souvenirs. Encircled by breathtaking scenery in this serene sanctuary, we were captivated by the breathtaking sights that never failed to astonish us, crafting indelible memories. The grand Kaminarimon Gate, a magnificent vermillion structure marking the entrance to Sensoji Temple, the oldest and most renowned temple in bustling Tokyo, exudes an air of traditional elegance that is synonymous with the historic charm of the city. This iconic gate, adorned with a colossal 700 kilogram lantern, serves as a beacon of welcome to the staggering 30 million visitors who flock to the temple annually. Sensoji Temple, affectionately known as Asakusa Kannon, stands as a testament to the devotion to Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion. The temple houses the revered principal statue of Kannon, believed to have been a source of salvation for souls for an impressive 1,400 years. This is from Tokyo Curry Pan near Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. Needless to say the bread was cheesy, had a great curry flavour and was delicious! 😋 This is off to the side a bit from the main path, so the crowds are not too bad - we went mid morning and there was no queue! It was very affordable too at just 500 yen per piece! Highly recommended for something a bit different :)

Sensoji Back to Sensoji again and as usual it was very crowded since it was like late morning. But it was still manageable except for the heat coming from.the glaring sun. Here is a place where anyone can embrace the culture and experience of temple. Sensoji is the oldest and famous temple in the city which most of it structures and building are very vibrant and colorful. There are many nice famous snacks over here from fruit, moshi , ice cream and local souvenir. Shopping here is quite enjoying. Entering the main building where it is nice to take pictures of the huge temple as background. Do not forget to draw your fortune aka Omikuji with small amount of token.

First time to Sensouji Temple, the street was so crowded really can feel life is getting back to pre-covid time. There is a lot of stalls selling local food and souvenirs you can shop for along the street. Inside the temple you can spend 100 yen to draw a fortune stick. The nearby restaurants are quite many also. We went to a teppanyaki restaurant and had an amazing lunch there. #sensojitemple
