Tokyo Trip | Shibuya's Sky Entertainment Garden, Check in at Miyashita Park!
🌟 Shibuya is a famous bustling street in Tokyo, including the surrounding areas like Harajuku, which are popular among young people. The Miyashita Park, which was rebuilt a few years ago, has become an incredibly popular new landmark in Shibuya in the last two years.
👍 Normally, when we talk about parks, they are on the ground, but Miyashita Park is completely built on the rooftop of a nearly twenty-meter-high building, with a total area of over 12,700 square meters. Below the park is a three-story comprehensive commercial building, and to the north, an 18-story hotel has been constructed.
✅ Before its reconstruction, Miyashita Park had become a gathering place for the homeless. To address the environment, Shibuya Ward Office turned it into Nike Park, but the residents were unwilling to accept this and continuously sued the ward office, taking them to court. Eventually, Mitsui Real Estate took over the reconstruction and managed to preserve Miyashita Park and also developed the sky park.
❤ The redesigned Miyashita Park features a modern style, with thick arch-shaped metal pipes spanning the rooftop, covered with a net for green plants to climb and grow. On one side of the park, there are food stalls with colorful food advertisements plastered on the food trucks, creating a place for eating, drinking, and entertainment. Some attractions in the park, such as the beach and rock climbing, are charged, but the prices are reasonable. During the summer, various performances are held on the rooftop lawn for the public to enjoy.
🧳 Shibuya is a place that young people love, and Miyashita Park, as well as the commercial city below, are no exceptions. At dusk, the commercial city of Miyashita attracts people from all over Tokyo to come here to shop and have fun. The south side of the first floor transforms into a food street, instantly bringing a lively atmosphere and showcasing the old street vibe of Shibuya.
