The answer is more subjective. It will be a different experience for families compared to couples. Overall we had a great time there. It took us more than 90mins drive to the place and did a lot of singing on the way. There were a lot of parking spaces available and cost a flat rate of 50rmb per day which we thought was good. The park didn’t have a lot of visitors so fewer queues at each attraction however a few attractions were also closed. The little ones were a bit tired so we rented the park electronic bikes and moved from one attraction to another in that. It is not a big park so we were able to visit almost all opened attractions. We did the cable car ride, visited various sites, and saw the orca (killer whale) show. The show was not that long but don’t miss it. Was it all worthwhile? For us yes.

My friend and I went and were pleasantly surprised. The enclosures for some of the animals were smaller than I would like. The shows were quite good and the lines not too long. We didn’t do any of the rides though so I can’t comment on them. The bathrooms were easy to find and clean. The map was bilingual but the schedule was Chinese only. First time visiting the park with low expectation. Quite a surprise to find lot of activities suitable for kids but some of the amusement have to wait for at least 45-minutes, this is event when the park only about 20% fill what makes it worst is the air circulation in the waiting area make things not comfortable. The center piece attraction is the Dolphin show. Quite tricky with the pricing as there is an added fee of RMB 90 person if you want to jump the queue. Overall is good for kids. Great day out at the Park. I petted the dolphins for a RMB 350fee. What a treat. We enjoyed the orca and dolphin shows very much. Since we did not plan to do rides, we watched both shows twice. The penguin, seal pavilions were great too. The down side is that the shark aquarium seems a little small for some of the sharks. Similarly, some of the exhibits in the Arctic pavillon were also a tad small for those specific animals. Perhaps these habitats can be upgraded soon. we went to the Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park at Linggang district (near Dishuihu) only 1.30 hours driving from the city. This summer the kid’s ticket discount to be only 9.9 RMB (under 16 yrs old) and we booked it via Dianping App. It was a happy time for kids…we recommend for one day trip on this summer. #summervacation

Getting There -  This ocean Park is 54km away from downtown. Nearest metro station is lingang avenue. From there 10 minutes travel in bus number 1135 to ocean Park. Parks opens from 9.30 am on weekdays and 9. 00 am on weekends. if it's crowded take the cable car and start from the other side of the park. Check each shows timing from the brochure or from the staffs. Rafting has a lot more waiting time so better to make it as the final activity. Attractions - Killer whale shark show, Bottle nose dolphin show, dolphins show, mermaid show and a lot of different varieties of ocean animals. Price -  Adult tickets are from 299 ¥ on weekdays and 360 ¥ on weekends. For children ( 1. 01 to 1. 4m) 180 ¥ on weekdays and 240¥ on weekends.
