It is quite close to another temple (Jing’an temple). I rode a bike from Jade temple to the other. I’d recommend visit both on the same day. I’d say it’s a fun visit but not a “must”. Mahavira Hall is the main building of the temple, about 30 meters long and 25 meters wide (7 rooms wide and 5 rooms deep), with the appearance of a two-story palace-style building in the Song style, simple and solemn. In the center of the hall is Sakyamuni Buddha, with Amitabha Buddha and Medicine Buddha on either side, all three Buddhas sitting cross-legged on lotus thrones, looking serene. Jade Buddha Hall is named after the jade Buddha enshrined in it. The jade Buddha statue is 1.95 meters high and carved from a whole piece of jade. In the eighth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing dynasty, Master Huigen brought a jade Buddha back from Myanmar, which was first enshrined in Zhanghuabang and later in a temple built in Jiangwan. In 1918, a new temple was built on Anyuan Road and completed in 1928. The temple has a rich collection of cultural relics, and the jade Buddha statue is the largest in China.
