Shanghai Symphony Music Museum🎵 An old western-style house hidden in the garden, the theme of symphony music is too professional, personally, I think the architectural environment itself is more worth seeing than the museum exhibits🤣
The former mansion of the 'Pigment King' Zhou Zongliang has now been transformed into a museum, with deep brown solid wood floors, wooden stairs carved with flowers... Every corner reveals the exquisite and western style that has not faded over time.
The super large garden of nearly 4000㎡, exudes a vibrant vitality in the summer sun. Following the long 'Shanghai Music Development Centennial Major Events' music staff composed of notes on the wall, listening to the melodious Brahms piano music in your ears, you can start your music journey.
🏚The building itself
No. 3 Baoqing Road was built around 1925, covering an area of about 4750 square meters. It was originally a German residence, with only the main building No. 2 and the steward's building No. 5 in the early days. Around 1930, 'Dye King' Zhou Zongliang bought this property and invited the famous Chinese architectural firm at the time - Huagai Architects to redesign and expand it. The redesign and expansion included the construction of the new No. 1 living room building and No. 3 building, and the renovation of the south facade of the No. 2 building.
💡About the Museum
The renovated No. 3 Baoqing Road is now in use as the Shanghai Symphony Music Museum, which systematically introduces the modern development history of symphony music in Shanghai. The Shanghai Symphony Music Museum complements the neighboring Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Conservatory of Music, providing a continuous experience for music lovers to visit and watch performances, and also revitalizing the use of historical buildings.
