20250510My trip to southern China, Guangzhou Chapter No. 2-Yongqingfang, feel the ancient charm of Guangzhou. A hotel I found on Ctrip.com, located on Enning Road, on the street, very easy to find. The hotel has a very "old" feel. We stayed silent all night. After lunch in the morning, we went to the ancient street to appreciate the historical features. We first went to Liwan Park and the Museum, and then walked to Yongqingfang. Yongqingfang in Guangzhou's Xiguan has a long history, which is said to date back to the first year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (206 BC). During the Han Dynasty, lychees were grown in Litchi Bay. By the Ming Dynasty, Litchi Bay had become a famous tourist area in Guangzhou. In the late Qing Dynasty, foreign trade began, attracting a large number of wealthy businessmen to gather here to set up camp and build private gardens. During the Republic of China period, a large number of tourists often came to visit, and even Mr. Sun Yat-sen once came here. I walked and walked and looked, my eyes were too busy to take it all in. The food in the food street dazzled me. I wanted to eat everything I saw, and in the end I ate a little bit at each restaurant. I stood for a long time at the front and back doors of the ancestral home of the martial arts god Bruce Lee. I recalled visiting his and his son's tombs at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. I felt very emotional. This 2-day, 1-night trip to Guangzhou was full of surprises and wonderful memories! Our group of six (including several elders) was extremely excited to visit Guangzhou again after more than 20 years. There have been huge changes: the streets are cleaner, there is less car noise, and the air is much better. The hotel we booked through Trip.com before departure was affordable, conveniently located, and had an ideal location, and received unanimous praise from everyone. The first day's itinerary started from Shangxiajiu Road. We strolled along the arcade street full of Lingnan style and tasted authentic Guangzhou dim sum at the Taotaoju old store. It suddenly started to rain heavily when we turned to Yongqingfang. We took shelter in Heytea and unexpectedly enjoyed a relaxing afternoon tea time. The next day, we visited the Yin Ji Rice Noodle Roll Shop near the hotel. Unexpectedly, this seemingly ordinary shop had exquisite decoration, full of nostalgia, large portions and affordable prices. The rice noodle rolls taste good, but I personally still prefer the Hong Kong style. Then we went to Guangzhou Tower. It was very convenient to buy tickets on site through Trip.com. The system automatically imported the high-speed rail booking information. The ticket purchase was completed in just a few minutes, and there were also discounts. When visiting the Sacre-Coeur, we were pleasantly surprised to find a bustling seafood street just outside the church. We strolled around with great interest for more than an hour and bought a lot of dried goods. We then went to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, where we visited Fengcheng Wonton Noodles twice. We felt that the wonton noodles in Hong Kong were better and we were able to fully experience the prosperous atmosphere of Guangzhou.
