[2025 Diebu Stay] Travel Guide for ShanWang· Full Landscape Sunrise Cloud and Fog Inn (Updated Mar)

Setting off for Gannan on March 15th is how I'm starting my 2025 journey. With fewer tourists, it feels like having the whole place to myself, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, offering a truly immersive experience. Amidst the wilderness, distant mountains reflect in the holy lake, creating a stunning panorama between heaven and earth. March is the best time to see snow-capped mountains in Gannan, and it's also the perfect season for encountering wildlife. Flocks of waterbirds fly over Gahai Lake, boasting scenery that surpasses even Namtso. The snow-covered, less-traveled "Little Duku Highway," devoid of tourists, allows herds of sika deer and blue eared pheasants to return to their canyons. Only by seeing them with your own eyes can you truly appreciate the spirits of the forest. The mist rising from the mountains of Zhagana adds a touch of mystery to the ancient Tibetan villages. For scenic accommodation, I recommend staying near the Deba Village viewing platform. Shan Wang Panoramic Sunrise and Cloud View Homestay is a great choice. Be sure to watch out for snow-covered sections of the road and have snow chains ready. Avoid attempting to cross particularly challenging sections unless you have a 4WD vehicle, to prevent getting stuck.

On October 7, the weather was very good and there were not many people in the scenic area. Just after entering the ticket gate and going up along the valley, there were autumn forests on both sides. The most shocking thing was the turn after the Nagastone Gate viewing platform. Suddenly, I saw the mountains in the distance being illuminated by the sun. It was particularly like the scenery in the comics. Picture 2 is what I saw after turning. I have been to Zhagana many times and I am still shocked. The temperature was very comfortable, the sun was not hot, and the temperature was about 20 degrees. It's really worth a visit in the off-season when the weather is good.

Both sunny and rainy days are beautiful, and the morning mist in the valley after the rain is the most spiritual. The Dari Viewing Platform is worth a visit, but be aware ⚠️ that traffic jams are severe in the morning, so choosing a well-located homestay is important, stay nearby and walk there. For accommodation, choose the Mountain View Sunrise Homestay, the angle of the entire homestay is excellent, you can overlook the entire valley from the room, open the window to see the mountains, there are no obstructing buildings, and you can see the sunrise if the weather is good. The yard can park cars, very convenient, and the beef hotpot is really amazing! Fairy Beach is suitable for visiting in the afternoon, the backlight view of the canyon has a unique feeling. Runwu Valley has good scenery, no altitude sickness, and if you have the stamina, it's worth a try. Climbing 20,000 steps, if you feel unwell, you can return at any time. The Rock Road is very beautiful and worth a walk. If you are afraid that the Rock Road is too rough, try to come to the North Gate, the scenery will not disappoint. Ban Zhou Grassland is very beautiful, horseback riding costs 300 yuan, and it takes 45 minutes one way. If you want to see marmots, follow the road from the mountain to the farmland path, there are actually many marmots and pikas. If there's anything else you can think of, let's talk about it.

Zhagana consists of 4 villages, 2 of which face the main peak, namely Yerizhai Village and Daibazhai Village, in a quiet corner of Daibazhai Village, ⚠️Special reminder: The Dari viewing platform is not in Dari Village, but at the entrance of Daibazhai Village. 🌈There is a homestay with an excellent view, 🅿️Parking is available on site, There are oxygen supply facilities, 🌅You can watch the sunrise and morning mist from your room, 🍚It's also very convenient to eat in the village. All four villages are small, with Dongwa Village being the largest and most lively, with the most developed commercialization.
