#0yentripFebruary2025 Before my children become working adults, I went to Taipei. I was looking forward to visiting Jiufen the most, but instead of the crowded night, I enjoyed Jiufen during the day. It was very crowded even during the day, so I thought it would be even more crowded at night, and I was right. I was also able to enter the Taiwanese tea shop I wanted to try without having to wait in line. The staff gave me a lecture in Japanese on how to brew tea, and I was able to experience the depth of Taiwanese tea, and I was able to enjoy some delicious tea. Personally, I was impressed by the tea sweets, the rakugan. Also, for dinner on another day, I went to a famous shop for steamed dumplings, a local gourmet dish. This was also delicious and far exceeded my expectations! Taiwanese food generally has a gentle taste, and I can see why it is popular with Japanese people. I wasn't used to even half of the things I wanted to eat, so I want to go again!

I went to Taiwan in January. The scenery at Jiufen is amazing, but it's super crowded. You can get there by regular bus from Taipei city, but I recommend booking a tour that only includes transportation on the way back.

The last time I went to Jiufen it was raining, but this time it was sunny! Although it's more common for it to rain, this time it was sunny and almost hot! The scenery in Jiufen on a sunny day was beautiful and became a memory that will last a lifetime!
