Shifen waterfall is a well known must-visit scenic waterfall when visiting New Taipei, Pingxi District. Remember to take some good photos while crossing the suspension bridge when visiting, and the WATERFALL ! Recommend to bring umbrellas there in case of showers. Best time to visit will be summer as there will be lesser rainfall for a better dry experience. I'm not sure if car can directly go to this location but I see all tourists stop mostly at the shifen visitor centre, where there are ample amount of carpark, if you want free parking, there a few located away from the visitor centre just a really short walk. There is also a short walk required from the visitor centre to this scenic shifen waterfall, estimated a 15mins walk? You will be required to cross 2 bridges before you reach the waterfall. At close proximity of the falls, there is a small shop selling souvenirs and some drinks that you can visit too! Do take note, there are 3 lookout points here, 2 are located above one another right by the view point from the shops and another located about a short 4/5min walk away from the falls where it will take you away from the falls but right in the center of the falls. Its basically just a small walk towards the other end.

Had a really enjoyable trip with my family to ShiFen Waterfall in Taiwan. It was raining when we got there, but the hike to the waterfall was not so tough and even my 9 years old boy was enjoying it. The view is awesome and we managed to take a couple of good photos. There are also street hawkers selling Taiwan typical streets food along the way. Though we reached there in late afternoon, the air is really fresh and make you want to stay there for a while. Highly recommended if you are travelling to Taiwan.

Getting There - There is a train station in shifen, you can take train from Taipei or any other city to reach here. You can also take taxi but that will be expensive. A few years ago, I went to Taiwan for the first time to "10". Before I went, I knew that there were sky lanterns to make wishes. But since I wasn’t very interested in making a wish, I just walked around and took pictures. Once out of the station is ten points station, ten points old street, the camera also takes pictures non-stop. The station’s old buildings, tracks, trains, and more are worth taking pictures of. 🗺️🗺️ 【Travel Itinerary】 Day 1: 17:00 Cheongju - 18:30 Taipei - Flight: Aero K (delayed from 14:50 to 17:00) After arriving at the airport, we checked if we had won the Taiwan Travel Support Fund and luckily, both of us won the accommodation support fund, so we started our trip with excitement! - Accommodation: The Tango Hotel by Linsen (5 out of 5) It is located about 30 minutes by airport rail and about 10 minutes by foot from Taipei Main Station. The accommodation condition and the staff were all friendly, so it was a very, very satisfactory accommodation. Even the breakfast was great!! Day 2: Taipei Suburb Tour (Yehliu Geopark, Jiufen, Shifen, Jinguashi, etc.) - I highly recommend the tour. - For dinner, we used the accommodation support fund to enjoy our first teppanyaki in our life at YAMAZATO located on the 4th floor of Okura Prestige Taipei. The ingredients are fresh and the chef's skills are really great, so I recommend you visit if you have the chance. Day 3: Taipei Suburbs Tour (Taipei Zoo) - After lunch at Din Tai Fung near Nanjing Fuxing Station, I took the FUXING NRD subway to Taipei Zoo. The weather was not so good that day, so I went to the top of the Maukong Gondola, but the view was not that good, which was a shame, but if the weather was good, it would be spectacular. - After visiting the zoo, I took a bus to Taipei 101 Tower, and there were really a lot of Koreans..ㅎㅎ If I go again, I probably won't go up 101 Tower.
