Huangshan Shilihly Weiyan Mansion: An Ancient House Bed and Breakfast Surrounded by Greenery
▪️ Huangshan Shilihly Weiyan Mansion Cultural Relics Hotel is located on Xibian Street, Xixinan Town, Huizhou District, Huangshan City. It is nestled in the depths of the maple and poplar forests of Xixinan, an ancient village with a thousand-year history, surrounded by gurgling streams and lush greenery. This was once the childhood residence of Zhu Zhishan, one of the four great talents of Jiangnan, and a rebirth of ancient Ming and Qing buildings. It is only a 5-minute drive from Huangshan North Railway Station and about 20 km from Huangshan Tunxi International Airport, offering convenient transportation without the hustle and bustle.
·
◽️ The hotel is restored from 12 ancient Huizhou-style houses that are hundreds of years old, with white walls, black tiles, and staggered gable walls, perfectly blending the elegance of Jiangnan water towns with the solidity of Huizhou architecture. Stepping into it is like traveling through time: a secret garden with winding stone bridges, lotus pond verandas, carved door covers, and the "Hundred Lions Terrace" guarding the house, all telling the story of history. The clear pool reflections and the green courtyard create an ink painting with every shot. Traditional wood-carved beams and columns collide with modern elements such as gauze curtains and swimming pools, preserving the ancient charm while adding a resort style.
·
▪️ The hotel has a total of 50 rooms, located in the ancient house complex, with two styles: ancient wooden structure and modern simplicity. Flower window wooden cabinets, carved bed frames, and celadon vases restore the exquisite customs of the old Huizhou merchants' residences. Some rooms offer views of the lotus pond or maple and poplar forests, with the light and shadows of morning and evening turning into paintings. Smart door locks, floor heating, high-end toiletries, bathtubs (in some room types), and minibars are all available, seamlessly connecting traditional aesthetics with a luxurious experience.
·
◽️ The hotel covers an area of 8,000㎡, with complete public facilities. The swimming pool hidden in the garden retains its classical beauty while meeting the needs of parents and children playing in the water. In summer, you can swim and enjoy a distant view of the maple and poplar forest. Nine hot springs are hidden in the courtyard, with rose petals floating in the pool. Listening to the flowing water while soaking in the hot spring will relieve all fatigue. Coffee bars, tea rooms, and libraries are dotted among them. In the afternoon, you can enjoy tea and read poetry, or experience a Huizhou bamboo weaving workshop to feel the charm of intangible cultural heritage.
·
▪️ The restaurant specializes in modified Huizhou cuisine. The stinky mandarin fish and hairy tofu retain their original flavor but are more palatable. The breakfast features freshly cooked rice porridge with Huangshan sesame cakes, warming the stomach and heart. The afternoon tea for two is served in a bamboo food box, with mung bean cake and sweet-scented osmanthus wine that are sweet but not greasy. After nightfall, the butler will thoughtfully deliver a goodnight dessert soup, such as red bean and lotus seed or white fungus and snow pear, to dispel travel fatigue. Nearby flavors: Yu Qingzhai Private Kitchen and Wangshan Hetianli Restaurant are within walking distance, where you can taste authentic Huizhou local chicken soup and Daobanxiang, and savor the nostalgia between the smoky stoves.
·
◽️ Here, time is no longer a scale to chase, but the falling of a leaf in front of the window and the swimming of a carp in the pool. When the hustle and bustle of the city fades away, Weiyan Mansion uses the millennium-old cultural context as a pillow, washes away the dust with a pool of warm soup, and allows every soul to reunite with the poetry of ancient Huizhou. As Shao Yong, a poet of the Song Dynasty, sighed: "Limited time is spent together in old age, but the scenery is boundless and comforting" - this may be the ultimate romance of travel.
