Budapest Day Tour Route Day 1 and Pitfalls Avoidance Guide
Budapest's attractions are very concentrated
Today's route is 1️⃣ Parliament Building - 2️⃣ Shoe and Boot Sculpture on the way to Szechenyi Bridge - 3️⃣ Szechenyi Bridge - 4️⃣ Buda Castle - 5️⃣ Matthias Church - 6️⃣ Fisherman's Bastion - 7️⃣ Central Market
Among them, 1️⃣ to 6️⃣ can be reached on foot.
✔️1️⃣, the Parliament Building, is the center of Budapest. Take the subway here first, and then go to various attractions without taking a detour.
✔️2️⃣, shoe and boot sculptures, these shoes are to commemorate the Jews who were shot and pushed into the Danube by the Nazis during World War II.
There are some commemorative flowers next to the shoes. May there be world peace!
✔️3️⃣, Szechenyi Chain Bridge, connecting Buda and Pest, across the Danube, with stone lions guarding the bridge.
✔️4️⃣, Buda Castle Park, tickets are 5,000 forints for adults and 2,000 forints for children over 3 years old. You can take the cable car up and overlook the city.
✔️6️⃣. There are not many people in Fisherman’s Bastion in winter, so you can wait for the camera to take pictures in just three to five minutes.
✔️7️⃣, Central Market, is located next to the Liberty Bridge on the Danube River. It is built in the neo-Gothic architectural style. The main structure is constructed with steel frame, which is grand and stable.
There are many Hungarian folk-style souvenirs, vegetables and meat in the market; there are also stalls selling various clothes and places to eat on the second floor.
It’s a large market!
As for the price, taking the refrigerator magnets we bought as an example, the price of the same style can differ by several times, so make more comparisons.
All in all, the prices of goods in the Central Market are still relatively cheap.
Let’s take refrigerator magnets as an example. A refrigerator magnet I bought at a roadside shop on the way from Buda Castle to Fisherman’s Bastion cost 2,500 forints, while similar styles in the Central Market were mostly around 1,200, and the cheapest one I saw was 400 forints.
‼ ️Finally, let’s focus on the guide to avoiding pitfalls
In the square of Fisherman's Bastion, there were people taking photos with pigeons (which looked like pigeons).
The white pigeons are very beautiful and children like them very much.
I asked the price, it was 5 Euros!
After taking a few pictures, the pigeon's owner took my phone and told me that I could use slow motion to capture the moment the pigeon took off.
At this time, I still felt that he was very enthusiastic.
But after the shoot, he said the charge was 10 Euros!
Slow motion is available for an additional 5 Euros!
The routine is really too complicated, it is almost equivalent to fraud!
Here, I would like to remind all friends to avoid pitfalls!
This happened on my first day in Budapest, and it really affected my impression of this city!
