The Sichuan Qing Dynasty Imperial Examination Hall is a Major Provincial-Level Historical and Cultural Protected Site. It is composed of a temple gate, corridor, exam room, audience hall, secondary hall, back hall and the dormitories for examinees. The existing corridors feature upturned eaves, and the wooden railing on either side includes antique chairs. Examination rooms are arranged on both sides. Each room is separate from another. The front courtyard is an examination room and the rear courtyard is a study. Rooms for staff are found all around. Each examination room has a single entrance, and they are named according to the characters in the Thousand Character Classic, used to teach reading in pre-modern China. The main hall opposite the gate is a one-storey house. Here, the examiners took roll call, gave out test papers and monitored examinations. The whole examination hall is well-maintained and is one of two existing imperial examination halls in China.
