Sinchon in Bloom: A Cherry Blossom Wonderland
During my recent trip to Seoul, I was fortunate enough to experience the breathtaking beauty of cherry blossoms in Sinchon. The arrival of these delicate pink flowers marks the beginning of spring, a time of renewal and celebration, and there's no better place to appreciate this spectacular display than in Sinchon.
Sinchon is a vibrant neighborhood known for its youthful energy, thanks to its proximity to several universities. But during cherry blossom season, it transforms into a dreamy wonderland, as the streets are adorned with a canopy of pale pink petals.
One of my favorite spots to enjoy the blossoms was at Yonsei University, a picturesque campus that boasts stunning architecture and sprawling green spaces. The university grounds were dotted with cherry trees in full bloom, creating a fairy-tale setting that left me in awe. I spent hours wandering the paths beneath the blossoms, capturing unforgettable memories with my camera.
The festive atmosphere in Sinchon during this time was contagious. Street vendors sold a variety of cherry blossom-themed treats, from soft-serve ice cream to cotton candy, adding a touch of sweetness to the experience. Locals and tourists alike gathered to picnic under the trees, sharing laughter and stories as petals gently drifted in the breeze.
As night fell, the cherry blossoms took on a new, ethereal beauty. The streets were illuminated with soft, twinkling lights, highlighting the delicate petals and casting a romantic glow over the neighborhood. Couples strolled hand in hand, while friends gathered to snap photos against the enchanting backdrop.
Beyond the blossoms, Sinchon offered a plethora of dining and entertainment options. I indulged in a delicious Korean barbecue dinner, followed by a visit to a lively noraebang (karaoke room), where I sang the night away with newfound friends.

Chapanda Sinchon: Cute Panda Charm with Delicious Treats
#magicalxmastrip
I was initially drawn to Chapanda Sinchon by its adorable panda-themed branding, and the long line outside convinced me it was worth the wait. Their treats are surprisingly not overly sweet, making them perfect for those who prefer more subtle flavors.
It’s unfortunate that this branch is only in Seoul, as I’d love to enjoy these goodies more often in the provinces. Definitely a must-try spot when visiting Sinchon!

Recommended Bars in Sinchon
During my trip to Seoul, I visited a bar in Sinchon called Batild. The moment I stepped into the store, the neatly arranged bottles gave off a very edgy and classic vibe. The bartender made cocktails according to the customers' preferences, allowing us to enjoy a drink and relieve the fatigue of our trip. The potato croquettes we ordered as a side dish were so crispy and savory that we enjoyed them very much!

🇰🇷 Moon hotel in Shinchon
Part of my favourite things to do when I am overseas is to lookout for new hotels and trendspotting. Some of these discoveries go undetected by the main stream and you can use some of the micro influencers to learn more. You also can learn more from the locals who have been here. This trip, I was in a new area and I found some interesting boutique hotels and new street eateries such as Pojang, a street vendor selling street food inside a tentage. It is also at a convenient area, right outside a subway entrance. This area is in Sinchon area when I was heading towards Hyundai department store in Sinchon.
