[2025 Hanoi Stay] Travel Guide for Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi (Updated Feb)

From the moment I step into the hotel, I was greeted with warmth and friendly smiles from the front desk. From check in to breakfast to check out, everything was impeccable. I am truly impressed by the standards set by this hotel and the warmth hospitality by Hanoians. The hotel itself is full of history. Opened in 1901, it hosted famous guests like Charlie Chaplin, Angelina Jolie and even hosted the famous Trump Kim Summit in 2019. The rooms are of decent size, but luxuriously decorated. The toiletries given is from Balmain. There is Hermes, Rolex and other luxury shops on the ground floor of the hotel. Also there is a popular bar called Angelina Bar which is very instagrammable. I also notice alot of models/influencers coming to the outside of hotel to take photos. During my stay, the hotel was kind enough to give me a box of chocolate from their chocolatier shop down there. I was in awe after I found out the price they sell in the shop! Overall a very nice and relaxing stay in the hotel. Unlike some of the posts I’ve read in other places, I found the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi to be clean, inviting and downright classic! The staff was very friendly and consistently making sure I was comfortable. I will definitely stay there when I come back! The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown Hanoi. The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms (there was even a tv by the shower), and high quality service. Also, they are one of few hotels that allow people under 21 to book a reservation. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The food was good. Firstly the hotel is charming in so many ways, the heritage decor with a hint of Neo classical luxury. The jazz performances in house. A great selection of wine and a perfect spa. When you indulge in all those things, there is no better way to end the night than with a session of talking to yourself in the bathtub. And not just any but the most beautiful and relaxing one. It has a history of 300 years since 1901. is a French building from the exterior, with my favorite black and white plaid mosaic tiles, carved spiral staircases, and an outdoor pool bar. The antique ceiling fan in the room, the sling of the classical pattern, the old wooden sill window and so on are all classic symbols. The bed frame is stable and solid, with the Sofitel My Bed, providing an excellent sleep experience. The bedroom furniture uses a lot of stone to increase the texture, the carpet is thick, and the feeling of walking barefoot is very good. The heart of the room is also reflected in the various storage utensils in the room, from small coasters, soap dishes, to table lamps, trays, tissue boxes, all of which are Vietnamese blue and white porcelain, the overall experience is quite good.
