The location is awesome and you are at Xi Men Ding, the hot-spot for tourists for food and shopping. It is also located just right at the Ximen station and travelling by the subway is so easy. #traveldiaries A brand new hotel in Ximending and I used my lucky draw winning to offset for this hotel SOTETSU GRAND FRESA Taipei Ximen. It also come with breakfast and it was a really good deal. We had a total of 3 persons so we used 3 lucky draw winning to book 3 nights and requested for the same room for 3 nights. The hotel room was big and comfortable and there was a king bed and a sofa bed. It fitted us nicely and check in was fast and easy. Taipei captivated me instantly. Its blend of tradition and modernity, coupled with its incredibly easy-to-navigate MRT system (get an EasyCard!), made exploring a breeze. My base at Sotetsu Hotel near Ximending was perfect, right by an MRT entrance. A tip for May visitors: it rains, so pack an umbrella! Food was a highlight. Shilin Night Market was a sensory explosion of street food – don't miss the huge fried chicken cutlets! For sit-down meals, Wulao Hotpot is a must-try, and Two Peak Fried Chicken is perfect for a quick, delicious bite. Beyond the food, I explored. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was grand, and I loved the changing of the guard. Day trips included the Taipei Zoo, the magical sky lanterns at Shifen, the charming Jiufen Old Street, and the unique rock formations at Yehliu. Taipei 101 offered stunning city views. While Xinyi District shopping was pricey, Mitsui Outlet provided better deals. However, Taipei truly shines for its food and friendly local vibe, less so for extensive shopping. The people of Taipei are incredibly warm and hospitable, making every interaction a pleasure. As I left, my stomach full and heart content, I knew I'd be back. Taipei's vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and unforgettable charm had truly won me over.

Not only is it close to Ximending, which is full of delicious restaurants, but it's also right next to the Rainbow Crosswalk, a Taiwanese photo zone. I booked a twin room, so there were two single beds, and a small sofa, table, and folding chair next to it. On the third floor, there is a washing machine and dryer for a fee, so it's great for long-term stays.

Stay in the deluxe family room at Sotetsu Inn Ximen. It was a delightful experience. When entering the room, you will be attracted by the spacious and bright space. The design of the room is simple and elegant, making people feel comfortable. The mattress in the room was very comfortable, which made me sleep well and feel full of energy. The view outside the window is also refreshing. You can enjoy the bustling street scene of Ximending. Feel the vitality and charm of this city. The facilities in the room are also very complete. It is a Japanese-affiliated hotel located right in front of Exit 2 of Ximen Station and across from the entrance of Ximen Market. It is said to have opened in February 2024. It was a clean, neat, quiet, and uncluttered hotel. Willingness to revisit: Very strong

Stayed on the second day of opening, was assigned a high-rise triple sofa bed queen room, very satisfied with the street view, overlooking Ximen Town. Perhaps because it was too new there was no restaurant offering breakfast, but the hotel was very careful to arrange a small amount of bread and eggs and instant coffee available for free every morning, and the hotel also gave a small cake to the birthday girl. The hotel also has a washer and dryer, you can do laundry and drying at your suitable time and also provides laundry detergent, which is very convenient. The only drawback is that payment methods can only be made by credit card. But overall the room was very comfortable and the family hopes to stay again next time.
