[Sapporo Gourmet] Suage+ Soup Curry | A popular restaurant with long queues

When you come to Hokkaido, besides the snow scenery and ramen, there is one thing you can’t miss: soup curry! This time we went to the famous Suage+ soup curry shop in Sapporo. There was a queue as soon as it opened, which shows how popular it is.
For those who have never had it, soup curry may seem a little strange. Unlike the thick Japanese curry, soup curry is more like a spice broth with various vegetables and staple foods (such as chicken legs, hamburger steaks, seafood, etc.) added to it, and served with a bowl of white rice. When eating, you can soak the rice in the soup, or eat it alone. It’s a very flexible way to eat and very appetizing!
💞Recommended reasons:
👍Fried chicken legs are super tender! Their signature dish is the deep-fried chicken drumstick, which has crispy skin, tender meat and a slightly smoky flavor, and is delicious with rice.
👍Vegetables are abundant! There are at least a dozen kinds of vegetables in a bowl of soup curry, such as pumpkin, lotus root, bell pepper, eggplant, potato, etc. Each one is cooked just right and not mushy at all.
👍Many soup options! There are flavors such as original, cuttlefish, coconut milk, spicy, etc. I chose the most basic original soup, which is rich but not greasy, and just the right amount of spicy.
We went on a weekday evening and the wait was about 20 minutes. There aren't many seats but the table turnover is fast, the staff are friendly and speak English. The menu has pictures, so you don't have to worry about ordering the wrong thing. Overall it is worth it, especially when the weather is cold, having a bowl of hot soup curry is super satisfying!
Tips:
1. It is recommended to come early, as the waiting time during popular periods may exceed one hour.
2. You can choose the spiciness of the soup, from mild to super spicy.
3. Cash only💰
