Historic buildings

St. George's Church is the oldest church in Prague Castle, located to the east of St. Vitus Cathedral. I saw an ancient Romanesque building with a towering spire and red walls and bricks, which is St. George's Church. It is also a well-preserved imitation Romanesque building in the Czech Republic. Historical background The church was built in AD 920 and has undergone destruction and expansion, but the cornerstone and two spires of the church have been preserved, and a baroque facade was added in the 17th century. Today the church is used as a concert hall, and concerts are often held here during the Prague Spring festival. The appearance of the tour guide church is very eye-catching. The brick-red facade looks like it is made of enlarged blocks. The triangular place above the facade is engraved with a lifelike relief of St. George the Dragon Slayer. Entering the church, although the size of the church is not comparable to that of St. Vitus Church, there are murals of various religious themes on the walls, interspersed with some statues, which can be viewed slowly. "The Ceiling of Jerusalem" and "The Coronation of the Virgin" are all worth seeing. masterpiece. The surrounding attractions are separated by a wall from St. George's Church, and there is an ancient Bohemian Convent of St. George, which has now been turned into a branch of the National Gallery, with a large collection of medieval paintings.
