On the second floor, there is a space where you can take off your shoes and take a break in a tatami room. #japantrip A Starbucks that blends seamlessly into the beautiful surroundings of this part of Kyoto, that leads to the Kiyomizudera. You get to sit on tatami mats upstairs but you need to be quick, there are limited seatings. Inside the building it’s quite dark but it’s part of the beauty of it. Ordering is at the front of the building and collecting is at the back. Air con was greatly appreciated considering it was so hot out the day we visited! Impeccable service as expected in Japan. Would definitely recommend!

The outlet is uniquely design to look like a traditional Japan house. There are rooms with tatami mat for customers to enjoy their drink. Unfortunately it was fully occupied. Tge staff there was very friendly and helpful. I bought hot chocolate and 2 of the starbucks bear.

When I went to Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto in November 2022, I saw this Aguya Tea House, but unfortunately it was past business hours and missed it. So this time I went to Akoya at 12 o'clock, just to taste the famous pickled buffet here, it was worth my visit, only 1700 yen per person, you can eat very full, and the taste is very good, can try Kyoto's famous pickled rice, and many styles, the tea served is very tasty, dessert is matcha, red bean cake, is also a must-try dessert in Kyoto, Akoya is worth a try.
