[Kobe steak recommendation] Steak Land: Super popular Kobe Teppanyaki! Great business lunch at a reasonable price
When visiting Kobe, which Kobe steak restaurant do you recommend? You must know about the famous Steak Land, a century-old Kobe teppanyaki restaurant with a total of three branches.
There is a long queue during peak meal times. The most cost-effective business lunch in Steak Land's menu is the dinner, which is just over NT$1,000 and you can taste authentic Kobe beef.
The set meal includes soup, salad, stir-fried vegetables, drinks, etc. You will feel full after eating the whole portion. The meat is tender, sweet and delicious, but if you want to be amazed, you have to order a higher-end one.
Location: Kobe Steak Land
Address: 6th floor, Sannomiya Kogyo Building, 1-9-17 Kita-Nagasa-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture
Business hours: 11:00–14:00, 17:00–21:00 (Monday to Sunday)
The three major types of Japanese wagyu are Kobe beef, Matsusaka beef, and Omi beef, so Kobe steak is a must-eat for many people when traveling to the local area.
To be certified as Kobe beef, it must be of the Tajima beef variety and must meet the strict conditions set by the Kobe Beef Distribution Promotion Council.
Not all steak restaurants in Kobe can be selected. Steak Land is one of them. It is an affordable Kobe teppanyaki restaurant with a century-old history and is conveniently located in the downtown area of Sannomiya.
The store's interior decoration is old-school and classical, and I quite like the cozy feeling. I chose to visit during off-peak hours, and it felt quite good when there weren't many people.
The best deal on the Steak Land menu is the business lunch, where you can enjoy authentic Kobe beef for just 3,500 yen.
However, due to our schedule, we could only visit at night, so we ordered a Kobe steak set and the most ordinary steak set to balance the budget.
They are the Steak Set (180g, 3,200 yen) and the Kobe Beef Steak Set (180g, 5,300 yen).
Next, I watched the chef perform hard. The iron plate sizzled and everyone's eyes were focused on the Kobe steak. I was so excited~
The garlic slices that would be used later had been fried in a pile in advance. The golden color and the heat and time were just right. Just looking at it made people's mouths water.
The Steak Land set meal includes, in addition to steak, salad, grilled vegetables, rice or bread, soup, coffee or juice.
While you are waiting for the steak, the side dishes will be served first. The salad includes fresh cucumbers, shredded red peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and a special sauce with a hint of garlic, which is very delicious.
The soup is more like borscht, containing tomatoes, carrots, beef chunks, and onion shreds. It has a strong sour taste with a slightly sweet aftertaste and is also quite delicious.
Kobe Beef Steak Set (5,300 yen, about 1,326 Taiwan dollars)
The chef recommends medium rare, the meat is really tender, and the meat is full of sweetness. It is great with just salt and pepper.
However, it lacks the amazing flavor of fat and sweetness. In short, it is delicious but not very memorable. Maybe what I ordered was not high-end enough.
Finish with coffee or juice. Overall, I think Steak Land is okay. Next time I come to Kobe, I will try other restaurants if I have the chance.
