🇺🇸New York bookstore tour @Strand📚
Strand Bookstore, which opened in 1927, had long been known to me before I moved to New York, and was naturally the first place I visited after settling down in New York!
Strand is located near New York University, Washington Square Park and has been loved by its teachers and students. The bookstore has four floors, the floor entering the main door is mainly for bestsellers, literature, history, comics and souvenirs, greeting cards, etc. It is the most crowded floor and is home to the coffee shop. Walk in a little and you will see stairs and lifts that take you to the ground floor below to read books on humanities, economics, music, science, and religion. Or walk up half a floor will be the themed area of New York City, introducing the cultural history of this world cultural hub, as well as children's books and toys; The uppermost floor is a more special, rare book room that not everyone will be interested in. It mainly collects older or books of special value. This floor is also where the bookstore holds events. No matter what subject you are interested in, you can always find a book that suits you at this bookstore.
In addition to the best-selling new books, they will set up stalls to collect old books every Thursday to Saturday so that everyone can empty the old bookcases to welcome the arrival of the next batch of new books. They will reclassify and price the collected books so that these books can find the next owner. It is also therefore possible to have unexpected harvests every time you visit the Strand, and you are always able to find treasures in the corners of the bookshelves. And therefore, the Strand is one of my few great weekend destinations!
In addition, they also launched their own designed cultural and creative products, such as clothing stocks, cups, tote bags, cosmetic bags, bookmarks, etc., which are characteristic souvenirs. Even if you are not a reader, the Strand is definitely a very New York (?) attraction, don’t miss it if you are near Manhattan!
