Although it is not the same as the religious significance of the Shwedagon Pagoda, it has a history of more than 2,000 years. It is the religious settlement of the people in the old town of Yangon. In fact, Sulei Pagoda has a history of more than 2,000 years, which is much longer than the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.

Went to Myanmar before the earthquake. This time I went to Yangon, Myanmar's largest city (but not the capital, mainly because of Myanmar's complicated history of changes). Since it is not a tourist hotspot and because of the recent turmoil, I rarely saw travelers like me. 📰Visa: Before applying for a visa, you must first arrange 1️⃣ round-trip air tickets 2️⃣ accommodation 3️⃣ local insurance. The local insurance fee is USD50, and the visa fee is also USD50, both of which can be completed online before departure. ✈️Air tickets: There is a direct flight of China Airlines every two days, so you can go early and return early. If you choose to transfer, there are many options to choose from, but it will take a long time, and most of them will transfer in Bangkok. 💰Money: It is more convenient to exchange US dollars locally. It should be noted that the larger the denomination, the better the exchange rate. In addition, the newer the better. If it is damaged, it may be rejected. The exchange rate I got at Yangon Airport was USD100=MMK260,000, but in the city it was USD100=MMK330,000, so the exchange rate would be much better if I could change it in the city. In addition, Myanmar Kyat (MMK) cannot be taken out of the country, but can be exchanged for US dollars at a currency exchange before leaving the country. 🚕Transportation: Just download Grab first. When taking the local bus, you never know when the bus will arrive, and there is no English information available. The same problem applies when taking a taxi locally, as there is no meter and you can only shout out the fare. Also, the driver may not understand where you want to go. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Yangon, Myanmar for the first time. I had always heard stories about Yangon and the beauty of the Shwedagon Pagoda since I was a child and always wondered if I would ever get the chance to visit. Finally, I made it there after finding an affordable flight ticket on trip.com. I decided to invite a friend to join me, and thus, this trip was born. Upon arrival, we headed straight to the Kyauktan Ye Le Pagoda to pay respects to the Buddha Upagupta outside the city. We then returned to the city to visit the Botataung Pagoda, where we paid respects to the Buddha's hair relic and prayed to the Nat spirit for our wishes to come true. As night fell, we visited the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, located on a hill in the heart of Yangon. The pagoda is visible from afar and is as beautiful as the legends say. Although some parts were under renovation, the golden pagoda illuminated by golden lights was still stunning. After visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda, we checked into the Zealax Hotel and Residence, a 5-star hotel booked through trip.com at a very affordable rate. The hotel was large, newly opened, and located in a safe area. The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the staff were very friendly. We even received an additional discount from trip.com, making it a great value. We had a restful night's sleep. The next day, we traveled outside the city to Bago to visit the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, the tallest pagoda in Myanmar at 100 meters, taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda. This demonstrated the grandeur and faith of the Myanmar people in constructing such large pagodas. We then visited the palace of Queen Suphayalat and paid respects to her statue, which is near the golden Kanbawzathadi Palace, a newly restored wooden palace. In the afternoon, we visited the Kyaikpun Pagoda, which features four Buddha images, before returning to the city to visit the Chaukhtatgyi Buddha, a reclining Buddha with beautiful eyes, and finally the Sule Pagoda, where we prayed to the Nat spirit. The golden pagoda illuminated by golden lights was beautiful from every angle. We then returned to the hotel to rest. The following day, we planned to visit the Bogyoke Aung San Market to buy souvenirs, but it was closed on Mondays. Instead, we went to Junction City Mall and had coffee at Rio Coffee & Brunch, a popular spot on Instagram. After relaxing and taking photos, we returned to the hotel. It rained lightly in the afternoon, so we rested comfortably at the hotel. On the last day, we traveled back to Thailand in the morning, arriving safely. This trip was very impressive, from the affordable flight tickets and 5-star hotel to visiting the places I wanted to see, including the Shwedagon Pagoda. Praying to the Buddha and the Nat spirit brought me great happiness and fulfillment. If my wishes come true, I hope to return to Yangon, Myanmar again. Amen!

The last day, New Year in Yangon. Sometimes getting on the wrong one, sometimes getting on the right one is the fun of life because the bus line signs do not even have Arabic numbers, except for the bus stop sign to the airport, which has English. The last day before returning was Burma's National Day, January 4th, which is the day Burma gained independence from England. The streets, shops, and some places were closed. Children came out to play games, have fun, and play football in the middle of the street. Burmese people like to chew betel nuts. There were betel nut stains on the floor almost everywhere. There were also betel nuts sold by the bite. Traveling by yourself like this, you can experience the local way of life. You have the opportunity to travel without needing a tour.

As mentioned in the first post, I stayed near Sule Pagoda. There is a pagoda in the middle of the road, similar to a roundabout. This area is similar to the Victory Monument in our country. Staying here is easy to walk anywhere, convenient for traveling. It is also the main bus station of Yangon. Near Sule Pagoda, there is a shopping mall and a large hotel that can be seen from afar, which is the Shangri-La Hotel. Escape the sun, escape the chaos, go find something to eat in this shopping mall. The atmosphere is luxurious, looks good. It is close to the lobby, but I did not stay here (it is expensive). 😂 The ground floor is a food court. What are you waiting for? Let's go down and find something to eat. There is a variety of Burmese, Thai, and Chinese food to choose from. The price is reasonable. I ordered Pad Krapow without basil leaves, Glass Noodle Salad, and Spicy Chicken. The salad was spicy like in Thailand. The Burmese chili paste looks delicious, but I am already full. Let's walk around and see. I recommend it. If anyone comes to Yangon, stop by Sule Pagoda. This area has a shopping mall that is nice to walk around in the air and delicious food for those who do not shop.

It’s an easy site to navigate and definitely less crowded and touristic. It is located at Junction of Sule Pagoda Road, မဟာဗန္ဓုလလမ်း, Yangon 11141, Myanmar (Burma), sort of in the middle of a “roundabout”, one has to be careful crossing the road to the main gate. once in, take you time to walk around and explore. There is a big tree outside Surretta, and there are many birds on it. It is also a scene.
