Tastes of Malaysia: Exploring Local Gems on My Trip
#malaysiatrip
During my Malaysia trip, I visited Jiu Yi Cha Ji, a casual restaurant offering a wide selection of comfort food. Here’s a breakdown of some of the dishes I tried:
Pan-fried Chicken Chop with Pumpkin Sauce: The chicken chop was tender and juicy, while the pumpkin sauce added a unique, slightly sweet flavor. Paired with fries and a small side salad, it made for a hearty meal.
Portuguese Egg Tart: These egg tarts were a perfect blend of flaky pastry and smooth, creamy custard filling. The slight caramelization on top gave it a nice finishing touch.
Steamed Rice with Pork Chop and Triple Egg: This dish featured a flavorful pork chop paired with three types of eggs: century egg, salted egg, and regular egg. The combination was well-balanced and satisfying, especially with the steamed rice.
Prawn Mee: A classic Malaysian noodle soup dish. The broth was rich with prawn flavor, and the noodles were cooked just right. It had a good balance of savory and spicy notes.
Cheese Baked Spaghetti with Chicken Chop: This was a delightful mix of creamy cheese and baked spaghetti, topped with a generous chicken chop. The dish was rich, cheesy, and filling, perfect for cheese lovers.
The ambiance at Jiu Yi Cha Ji was cozy, and the outdoor seating added a relaxing vibe. If you're looking for a variety of flavorful dishes, this place is definitely worth a visit!
