Sushi Samba London
#newyearnewtrip I recently dined at Sushi Samba in London, and while the experience had its highlights, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The most standout feature of the restaurant is undoubtedly the views. Located high up in the Heron Tower, the panoramic vistas of London are breathtaking, especially at night when the city lights create a stunning backdrop. The ambiance is chic and vibrant, making it a great spot for a special occasion or a night out.
However, the food, while visually impressive, felt overpriced for what it was. The fusion of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavors is unique, but the portions were quite small, and the taste didn’t quite justify the high price tag. Some dishes were delicious, but others felt underwhelming, especially considering the cost.
The service was moderate—polite and attentive at times, but not as refined or seamless as I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. There were moments where it felt like the staff were stretched thin, and the overall experience didn’t quite match the premium pricing.
In summary, Sushi Samba is worth visiting for the incredible views and trendy atmosphere, but temper your expectations when it comes to the food and service. It’s a great place for a drink or a special occasion, but I’m not sure I’d rush back for the dining experience alone.
