Leisurely 2-Day Self-Driving Tour Itinerary!
A 2-Day Self-Driving Tour Itinerary Around Shanghai
I recently took my parents and child on a 2-day self-driving tour around Shanghai with a total of 4 people. The experience was amazing! I've put together this itinerary to share with everyone, and I hope it can be a useful reference for you.
People: 4 people (2 seniors, 1 child, 1 adult)
Transportation: Self-driving
Day 1
Due to work and school, we didn't leave until 4:30pm.
- First stop: Nianhua Bay
- Eat: Dinner was at the Yangcheng Lake Service Area on the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway. There is a wide variety of food choices in the service area to meet the different tastes of the whole family.
- Play: When we arrived at Nianhua Bay and entered the scenic area, it was already dark, so we mainly watched the night scenery and performances. We strolled along Xiangyue Flower Street, the main street, which has an ancient charm and is a great place to take photos. Check the performance schedule in advance and focus on watching three wonderful performances:
- Nianhua Yixiao Drone Show: Drones transform into various shapes in the night sky, which is very shocking.
- Nianhua Pagoda Lighting Ceremony: The Nianhua Pagoda under the light is mysterious and magnificent.
- Reed Crossing the River Water Screen Movie: The combination of water screen and light and shadow brings a unique visual experience.
- Accommodation: Jin Hu Hotel Wuxi, the rooms are comfortable and the environment is good, which is good for recharging for the next day's trip.
Day 2
After sleeping in, the family had a pleasant breakfast.
- First stop: Taihu Wetland Park, Suzhou
- Navigate to the East Gate parking lot, parking is very convenient.
- Play: The main things to see in the park are pandas and sika deer. Enter from the East Gate, and on the left is the Panda House, where you can see cute pandas in their adorable activities. On the right is Deer Island Manor, where you can interact with sika deer up close. The park is large, and you can also choose to take a cruise to other spots. My personal suggestion is that it is enough to visit the Panda House and Deer Island Manor, otherwise it will be more tiring.
- Eat: Lunch at the Lake View Pavilion restaurant in the park. The dishes here are refreshing. It is more cost-effective to buy a package on multiple platforms, which can save expenses.
- Afternoon:
- Suzhou Bay Digital Art Museum: There are currently 3 exhibitions. You can buy tickets on site at the art museum front desk. Here, you can feel the perfect integration of technology and art, bringing a unique visual experience.
- Suzhou Bay Museum: The regular exhibitions are free. The Suzhou Silk Pattern Digital Hall on the 5th floor, Splendid Patterns, is highly interactive and very suitable for parents and children to visit together, allowing children to learn about the charm of silk culture, which is worth seeing. The surrounding external environment is also good. After visiting the museum, you can also walk around the surrounding area.
This 2-day self-driving tour around Shanghai has a relatively easy itinerary, which not only takes care of the physical strength of the elderly and children, but also allows everyone to have fun, appreciate the beautiful scenery, and experience different cultures. It is very suitable for a family trip.
