Tai O Day Tour (Food, Drinks, Entertainment)
#Hong Kong Good Places #Tai O
Transportation: 1⃣️🚌Bus: Take bus No. 11 from Exit B of Tung Chung MTR Station (every 15 minutes, more convenient, 50 minutes, not very friendly to people with motion sickness, but the price is the cheapest)
2⃣️🚠Cable Car: Exit B of Tung Chung MTR Station. The price is about NT$200 per person. You can see the scenery of Lantau Island along the way. If you haven't taken it, I recommend it.
3⃣️🚢Ship: The frequency is relatively sparse, with one ship every 2 hours. If you miss it, you may have to wait for a long time.
Attractions: Tai O stilt houses, ancient temples, seaside promenade, Dolphin Watching Pavilion, Tai O Heritage Hotel (former police station site)... Among them, the must-see is the Dolphin Watching Pavilion, which requires going up and down the mountain. The scenery is beautiful and you can see the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the plane landing. The sunset is a must-see. You can walk to the Cultural Relics Hotel to watch the sunset. Friends who are interested in photography should bring their equipment.
Food and drink: grilled squid (very fragrant), big fish balls (very chewy), tofu pudding (eat dessert while watching the studio scenery), cafe house, Shawong (fried food rolled in sugar), shrimp pork cake (as the name suggests, pork dipped in shrimp paste, worth a try), glutinous rice cake (sweet bean paste, peanut coconut shreds, mango), the more unique thing about drinks is that the local residents will make some drinks to relieve heat and thirst, such as roselle tea, salty lemon citrus tea, snow pear tea, etc. You can choose according to your own taste.
Other features: murals, stray cats (lots of them), souvenirs (various dry goods: salted fish, fish maw, shrimp paste, xo sauce, dried shrimp), and the residents are very warm and nice.
