It's my first time traveling alone, and I chose Taichung in central Taiwan. Taichung is a wonderful city with many famous attractions to visit. If you want to have a picnic 🧺 or take a walk, you can go to Taichung Park or Central Park. If you want to taste local snacks, you can visit Yizhong Street Night Market or Fengjia Night Market. If you want to enjoy mountain scenery and get close to nature, you can go to Cingjing Farm or Hehuan Mountain. If you want to experience local history and culture, you can visit Taichung Railway Station or the Literature Museum.

Taichung Railway Station is the core station on the Taichung Railway (mountain line) of the Taiwan Railway. It is one of the only four special stations in the Taiwan Railway. Due to the architectural appearance of Taichung Station, it still maintains the appearance of the Japanese construction era, and thus became one of the landmark buildings in Taichung. The Taichung Railway Station has a long history and is officially listed as a Grade II monument. From the appearance, it exudes a nostalgic style. This red brick building mixes Japanese architectural style and Renaissance style, and is very distinctive and highly recognizable.

Actually, this trip to Taichung was just for relaxation, without any specific places in mind to visit. We just searched on Google after arriving there. We specifically chose accommodation near Fengjia Night Market for convenience in finding food, which is about a 15-minute walk away. However, staying in this area has a downside. I later found out that the places or attractions I wanted to visit were all on the other side of the city, and this accommodation is not close to the MRT, so we opted to take Uber. Day 1: Went to Fengjia Night Market in the evening to find something to eat. There are two large supermarkets nearby, which is convenient for me when the weather is too hot to go out. Day 2: Visited the Taichung Art Museum, which is worth a visit. Day 3: Went to Anime Lane, which was nice but smaller than I expected. Day 4: Visited Taichung Train Station and walked around two nearby night markets, which felt smaller in scale compared to Fengjia. The duck rice and braised pork rice were delicious. I found a slightly sweet one near the accommodation, which was nice, but the operating hours were too short, making it inconvenient.

The roof structure of Taichung Station uses solar panels and looks like a butterfly spreading its wings. The station is an elevated station with one underground floor and three floors above ground. The station structure adopts natural ventilation and lighting, so it does not need to be equipped with air conditioning. High Soeed Rail ( HSR)

On the first floor of Taichung Station, there is a beautifully lined food street. Next to it, the magnificent old station building is preserved. I used to visit only the west side, but one time I went to the east side and was surprised to see more people there. The west side has more charm in photos. Instead of demolishing the old station building and constructing a new one, the old station is preserved and effectively utilized. The area around the old station is a free plaza where various events are held. Many people visit. There are quite a few homeless people around the plaza, though.

There is a cute Kakao friends pop-up store that is located outside of the Taichung Train Station. The pop-up store carries a diverse range of kakao friends merchandises such as umbrellas, bottles, cushions, stationeries, plushies and etc. The merchandises are displayed neatly on the shelves. 鐵露大街, Taichung is a mall which is located at the ground floor under the Taichung Train Station. The mall is spacious and bright. There are many food stalls available ranging from Thai cuisine, Korean Cuisine, Japanese Cuisine and many more. There is even a maid cafe! There is a huge common area for people to dine in. The place is tidy and clean, we hardly see any leftover plates on the table. The service staffs on site do maintain the cleanliness very well! #fallishere

We spent 5 days here in Taichung, just an hour from Hsinchu City by Taiwan Railroad Limited Express Train . The weather are always great here in Taichung with beautiful sunshine and you could easily ride a Ubike to explore this city. The Dawn Cake shop is located near the Train station of Taichung with fabulous interior design and Marble tables and European 18th -19th Centuries storage closets to present the products of pineapple cakes. One of my favorite shopping malls in Taichung is Matsui Lalaport close to the South Gate of Taichung Train Station . It takes about 10 minutes strolling to Lalaport from the TRA Taichung. All of the Japanese goods you may find at Lalaport without flying to Japan.

The one and only outlet in taiwan-our favourite 吃茶三千 bbt shop! Cafe is 3 storey tall. And the interior is pretty nice. Smells amazing too the typical fragrance of the tea 🍃 leaves. There is a mini tea garden upstair that you can visit for free. Very Zen right there call the sky tea garden. Theres also a tea maturation cellar simulating the growing environment for the tea leaves. You may also have some tea tasting at the cafe. There is a special activity here where u can make a wish of tea sealed with your fav oolong tea in the tea pot n sealed it didnt do this as it needs adv booking but you can check this out if you visit or simply just go enjoya cup of bbt there!
