Taipei 101 Observatory is a highly recommended place to visit for any visitor to Taipei. The observation deck on the 89th floor offers stunning 360-degree views of the city, and the building itself is an architectural marvel. The entrance fee for foreigner is about TWD$600 when u purchase on site at 5 th floor, upfront online pre booking may able to get better rate. The lift going up from 5th to 89th floor is very fast less than 35 seconds. Coming down is about 45 seconds. Total 3 floors to visit 89, 90 & 91. Taipei 101 Countdown Fireworks
We went to Taiwan specifically to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks display at Taipei 101. This event is an absolute must-see for New Year's celebrations in Taipei, and even in all of Taiwan. The best part is that because of the towering height of the 101 building, you can see the fireworks from surrounding areas even if you're not at the City Hall. Everywhere you go, you can find people counting down and sharing the joy of the New Year together.
Two hours before midnight, we arrived near the building. There were already many people enjoying food from the stalls set up nearby. In addition to the fireworks display, there were also light effects that made the entire performance more lively. Performances by many famous singers made the New Year's Eve event even more exciting. The area near the stage was indeed very crowded, but if you just want to see the fireworks, you can avoid the area near the stage, as there are still great views of the fireworks from less crowded areas around.
Overall, the stunning and creative visual effects of Taipei 101 are truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Getting there - This is easily accessible by Metro as it is right outside the metro.
Highlights - This is a huge area with the memorial, peace arch, parks and national theatres. The memorial itself is a huge complex with interesting exhibitions below and statue on top level. Overall, very good chance to learn about Chiang Kai Shek and Taiwan history
Tips - You can go earlier in the morning as exhibitions opens at 9am but remember your sunscreen and umbrella.

Highlights - Tall and iconic skyscraper of Taiwan that has many luxury shops inside the building. There are also many souvenir shops like Sunny Hills etc inside for gift shopping.
Tips - You can also go to the nearby park near the city hall to have a full view picture with Taipei 101 and the rainbow.

Ximending
Getting there - You can take Metro to nearest Ximen station.
Highlights - Fun and vibrant shopping district from day to night. There are so much food and souvenir shops here. Don't forget to try the famous Ay Chung Rice Noodles and Xing Fu Tang's brown sugar milk. Options are endless here.
Tips - Do visit the red house at Ximen which is a historic and photogenic building with crafts market and coffee house inside.

Getting there - Can reach there by Metro and then walking.
Highlights - This is the best night market in Taipei in my personal opinion. The variety of food is great there and it's a huge night market. Many michelin bib recommended food like the pepper meat pancake, Yipinyuan rice balls to name a few. Highly recommended if you love street food.

Taipei 101 was designed by C.Y. Lee. From a high vantage point, its bucket-like design facilitates indoor viewing of the outside world. Every eight floors form a bucket, each bucket forms a section, and each section serves as a structural unit. Taipei 101 connects bucket by bucket, reaching towards the sky. Like bamboo growing segment by segment, it symbolizes continuous progress and business prosperity. In the East, the display of height and width emphasizes the extension of unit numbers rather than the volume expansion commonly used in the West.
Its vertical layout stacks layer upon layer like a pagoda, extending upwards; the horizontal spread is akin to the interconnected courtyards of the Forbidden City in Beijing, advancing layer by layer, all reflecting the building's size through the increase or decrease of unit numbers. The use of symbols and totems aims to convey complete information. Therefore, symbols like the Ruyi and dragon-phoenix totems are cleverly integrated into the architecture. For example, the roofs of the shopping malls are designed with Ruyi phoenix tails, symbolizing good fortune; auspicious dragons are placed at the sharp corners of buildings to ward off bad energy. On the 24th and 27th floors, circular and square patterns are used as mortise and tenon joints, symbolizing the operation of the universe - 'the circle represents the sky, as the body; the square represents the earth, as the function.' This design uses traditional wooden structure mortise and tenon methods to connect the upper eight buckets and the lower three buckets, highlighting the building's stability. All these are clever uses of information, aiming to convey a sense of completeness.

Located on the fifth floor of Taipei 101, a well-known landmark in Taipei, Suiyi Niao has been open here for many years. It is also a famous local restaurant, very suitable for gatherings, birthdays, parties, etc.
At noon, we enjoyed a set meal with pasta. The portion was very large. If there are many people, it is recommended that you don’t order the set meal for everyone, and you can just share the food. The pasta is highly recommended. It is not like the cheap ones sold outside that have a lot of soup or feel like a seasoning packet. This pasta is really boiled and then stir-fried with pasta. It is very delicious.

Tallest building in Taipei
Taipei 101, the world's second tallest building, is Taiwan's most recognizable landmark today. It was the tallest building in the world for six years (2004-2010), until Dubai's Burj Khalifa opened. Although the record has been broken, Taipei 101 continues to take visitors to new heights.
The first thing Taipei 101 reminded me of was a stack of Chinese take-out boxes (Chao fan boxes?). It even appeared to have a chopstick protruding from its roof to me. But that's just one of the numerous pictures it conjures up in people's minds. One of the tower's many symbolisms is its eight sections, each with eight storeys.
And, as you may have guessed, the number eight is considered a very lucky number in many Chinese cultures.

Terrific Taiwan!
Taiwan definitely caught me by a surprise. Although I won’t necessarily recommend coming during summer cause of the incredible heat, it definitely still caught me by surprise.
Rather unassuming but if you took the time to go to the lesser know areas, you will get to experience the more authentic side of Taiwan. Food is great even as a someone who follows a halal diet and many Muslim friendly meals can be found.
Definitely rich in nature and culture and sure is somewhere I will visit more frequently. 5 days was definitely not enough! #travel #taipei #taiwan

Taipei 101 Taiwan Iconic Tower
Don’t missed this place when you traveling to Taiwan, located in Taipei city and take the red line MRT (Xinyi-Tamsui) line and get off at 101 Station then take exit 4.
If you want to go the up the tower, just purchase the tickets at the gate before enter or by online 3rd website who selling the 101 ticket to go up the tower. It’s cost around 150 NTD.
Best visit in the afternoon to evening to see the lights and get around the mall in the same building

Afternoon tea is a must-try at the wine restaurant on the 4th floor of Taipei 101 Building (Yimakado)
I brought my niece Jiaqi, who came to Taipei from Shanghai to visit me, for afternoon tea today. We ordered two drinks (lemon sparkling water) (passion fruit sparkling water). They were delicious. They were refreshing and tasty. They were smooth and went into the throat. They tasted so good! Order two more plates of ice cream. The most distinctive ice cream in the store (red heart guava) and chocolate cake vanilla ice cream. It looks good and tastes delicious😋The 4th floor of the 101 building is 3 floors high and it is a very spacious and comfortable environment. The World Earth Time is making a garden next to it. The flowers are in full bloom. They are very beautiful. It’s so fun to have afternoon tea in the restaurant 😀 It’s worth recommending to everyone
