Taitung's Nightlife: Night Market + Creative Market + Sea Breeze, Super Chill
🌃 Taitung at Night—From Night Market Feasts to Sea Breeze at the Seaside Park
During the day, enjoy the ocean views along Highway 11, and at night, wind down with Taitung's gentle and slow-paced rhythm 🌝
For the evening, I planned just four simple yet blissful activities: visiting the old train site, eating at the night market, strolling through Tiehua Village, and relaxing by the sea breeze.
🚂 Taitung Old Train Station Carriages
📷 Photo Spot Recommendation:
Sit by the edge of the tracks with the old carriages as your backdrop.
Use your phone's wide-angle mode to capture a "ruins vibe + dappled light and shadow"—the results are stunning!
📍 Address: Intersection of Xinsheng Road and Tiehua Road, Taitung City (right next to Tiehua Village!)
✅ Free entry, with dim yet safe lighting at night, creating a serene atmosphere.
📖 A Little Story: These train carriages symbolize Taitung's journey from its agricultural past and old railway era to its current creative renaissance. They also resemble a traveler's life journey, with memories passing by one carriage at a time 🚂
🌃 Taitung Tourist Night Market (Zhengqi Road Night Market)
📍 Address: Zhengqi Road, Taitung City (near Zhongshan Road intersection)
🕕 Hours: Daily from evening until around 10:00 PM
This is one of the most authentic night markets in Taitung. Though not large in scale, every stall is full of sincerity—it's uncommercialized and brimming with local vibes!
🍽️ This time, I tried the legendary **"Guan Cai Ban" (the name itself is a hilarious pun 😆), and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious!
👉 It's basically toast stuffed with beef, soul sauce, and fresh veggies, plus free iced tea. One serving is super filling.
🥹 Despite the pun, the taste is genuinely amazing, and the owner is very friendly!
📍 A Small Tip: I parked at the lot next to the night market, which cost 💰100 TWD per visit—slightly pricey. Consider arriving early to find street parking instead.
🎡 Tiehua Village & Fireworks Market (Weekend Exclusive)
📍 Address: Lane 135, Xinsheng Road, Taitung City (next to Taitung Music Hall)
🕗 Hours: Friday–Sunday, 5:00 PM–10:00 PM (Fireworks Market)
This is Taitung's most romantic nighttime landmark!
If you visit on the weekend, don't miss the Fireworks Market, where tents are filled with creative handmade items, fragrances, desserts, illustrations, and more. The small stalls are full of personality and warmth.
🌸 Stroll around, pick up some unique items, and enjoy live music—it's the perfect "Taitung-style relaxation therapy."
📸 Photo Tips: The string lights, music stage, and crowds create a lively urban scene that looks like a movie still. Especially under the 🏮 lantern-lit night sky, the view is stunning.
🌬️ Final Stop: Seaside Park Walk + Sea Breeze Relaxation
✅ Free entry, accessible by bike or car, with dim yet safe lighting at night.
Lie on the beach, listen to the Pacific waves, feel the cool sea breeze, and gaze at the ocean, moon, and stars. Do nothing but unwind.
It truly feels like "this trip has finally slowed down."
📷 Perfect for capturing a silhouette shot of the night sky, streetlights, and your back—preserving the tranquility of the evening.
