[Niigata] One of Japan's Three Great Night Cherry Blossom Viewing Events You Should Visit at Least Once
📍Takada Castle Park, Niigata
Takada Castle Park in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, has 4,000 cherry trees planted within the park, and at night, the three-story turret and cherry trees are illuminated by the light of lanterns and reflected on the water surface of the moat, making it one of the "Three Great Night Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan."
The cherry blossoms at Takada Castle Park began in 1909, when 2,200 cherry trees were planted by the Veterans Association to commemorate the entry of the former 13th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army into the castle. Currently, a cherry blossom viewing event is being held in the park.
I came to Takada Castle Park looking forward to this cherry blossom viewing party, but the cherry blossoms were late this year and there were still many cherry blossoms in bud😇
But the cherry blossoms in front of the Mie Yagura were in full bloom🌸
(Photo: April 5, 2024) The park has an area of about 50 hectares, and is said to be one of the largest parks in the country located in the center of the city🤍
